Starting this thread since I'm sure it's going to be a big deal the longer time goes on. This'll be updated as needed (and as questions start rolling in so I can make an FAQ)

Q: Are there patches for Wii games (such as Brawl) to support this?
A: No. Currently the only support for it on vWii is with Nintendont

Q: Is it supported by <OS>?
A: Most likely, yes.

Q: Does it work with Dolphin?
A: Yes. Download one of the latest dev builds, it should work on Windows and Linux. OSX isn't currently supported. For more information, see here.

just downloaded this. for those of you having trouble to download click the link for windows driver then click the link of The latest direct link to the installer: and make sure to save it then rename the file extension to .exe for it to work

ps it does take some time to install so you need to be patient

Any plans on getting this to work on a Mac OSX? Still waiting for my adapter to be delivered


I'm on mac too, and really want this, but be a tad patient, these two things have happened in the past 3 days, it will take a little bit for some with mac experience and the need (yes its a need lol) for this to get it going. Even the windows version (which came out today) isn't quite there yet, it works but just barely if I understand correctly.

Is it possible to get vwii to recognize the gamecube adapter as a valid controller like the original wii did for its own gamecube controller ports?

If not, is anyone working on atleast getting the adapter to be recognized by any of the usb loading apps, i.e. WiiFlow, USB Loader GX, CFG USB Loader, etc.. so the gamecube controllers can be used in the usb loaders' menus and in any game they boot much like what nintendont has accomplished.

I'm asking mainly for brawl (PM) with gc controllers hooked to the official wii u gamecube adapter.

Any or all knowledge shared about this would be much appreciated. :lol:

For noobs like me that need instruction for nintendont, change "loader.dol" to "boot.dol" and place in your nintendont folder. Works like a charm (don't forget to enable hid controller via nintendont options).

So, does the adaptor have to be 'initialised' in a compatible game before is can be used in Nintendont? I have no plans to buy Smash Bros, so it will determine whether or not I buy the adaptor.

For Brawl you'd have to rip out the code for the regular GC ports and replace it with code that makes the adapter work. Considering the progress that the Brawl community has made, this should be no problem.

It had to for the first few days, but no, now you just run nintendon't and it initializes the controller itself. (its so much nicer that i don't have to use smash anymore)

So is there any tracked progress on this? like a thread on this forum or other forums?

I can't seem to find anything related to it through google.
