Hacking [release] 3ds CFW-CIA Installer

One question, I'm using the guide by Devin (awesome guide by the way) and its seems like I need to download a demo from the eshop. Is it possible to access the shop on 9.x FW emuNAND with out the gateway card? Thanks

Any point of using this if you already have a GateWay?

This is limited to 4.5 and lower firmware games. If you have a Gateway, you already have support for 9.2. Thus this is moot as is. If it was fixed to latest firmware, it would be a completely different matter. So far there is no indication from the developers of the files that an update is coming. I could be wrong, but the messages so far aren't really encouraging. Not a real surprise though.

cant run games that have 5.X+ crypto
cant install DLC
none of the extra features that gateway has (nand dumping, cart dumping, save dumping, ect...)
doesnt support upgraded emunand

Why does GovanifY need the 3ds's ip address to install cia files? Surely this can be done offline.

It needs to connect to Nintendo's servers to download required info. If you want, you can download the files needed and set up your own local server. Don't blame him, the original developers made it like this. He just changed the file locations to another server.

Im going to go ahead and say this is not for everyone, it was already troublesome to set up and get working + Majority of the time it STILL does not work if its set up right.

Your best choice is to sit out and wait until this is built upon first, or the bugs are worked out.

One of the devs mentioned that to scare people out of using this tool. In reality, the only info he has access to is your public IP address. Any website you visit has access to this, including GBATemp.

Yes it's possible to do that, it's how I've got mine set up. Obviously you need to change ROP loader between Gateway and homebrew one, but it works fine.
