Hacking [release] 3ds CFW-CIA Installer

Good fucking luck getting this shit working. I'm able to get into my Emunand using the launcher (After, ya know, like 6 attempts), and then the program just says "Failed to connect". I've rebooted the emunand like 6 times now, and it still says this. My computer is easily able to ping my 3DS, so it's not my computer's fault...

If bottom screen flashes white and the upper is blue after you tap DS Profile—it would boot, if not, don't even wait, restart the 3DS.

You gotta write your emunand bin to your SD card starting at sector 1 from a hex editor.

Can't do that either, GW launcher blocks updates from cart/ROM, and 1.0 which doesn't block updates can't launch ROMs on a GW with the multi-ROM firmware update.

I think you can hold up on the dpad while booting Gateway to let you update from a ROM.

I've heard that mentioned before, but I've never seen anyone actually confirm that it works. I consider it just an urban myth, but I'll try it nonetheless.

can you do this? How is it done?

Win32DiskImager should work, as it just writes the raw data to the card.

Sorry but I need a clarification what can we do with this? Can we install CIA files on 4.5 or not?

I backed up my 3ds NAND with the gateway launcher.
Save NAND.bin on my pc.
Relaunch gateway launcher-format emunand.
Use emuNAND tool to extract emuNAND.bin from sd.
Inject orig4.5 NAND.bin into emuNAND.
I still get blue screen with white bottom, nothing else.

I followed mocalacace's steps too. I put the 3ds_Stuff's contents in the root and tried running it through the old exploit. I can't even get blue screen white bottom, just an error

I try to keep out of discussions of morality on flash carts, piracy etc. because it's a silly thing to argue about but I won't be trying this because it seems kind of iffy and I don't want to risk any damage or other annoyances to my system. If something better comes because of this though, than that's another story.

Almost everyone is having trouble getting a connection. My advice is to leave this alone for a while if you don't know what you're doing. Not much to gain from it.

People are curious and being able to install .cia is mouthwatering but most people that are still on 4.5 have GW so I doubt this will be a game changer ... do you guys plan on releasing a better version in the future? (I doubt it since I know you're against piracy)
