Well, I won't delve into the N64 shenanigans, but I will say that if it'd be a remake along the lines of OoT3D then I'd rather if they don't remake the game at all. Refreshed visuals do not a remake make, OoT3D was a waste of everybody's time in my opinion.

Agree in a sense there.
I like that they refreshed it, but i don't actually like that it was made to a handheld, it's not a handheld game, so it's like a remake with huge limitations on improvements.

If they made it on Wii or Wii U (Not with the damn controller though), that would be another story, as it would open up new windows of opportunity rather than "porting" a console game that is made for a controller, 1 window etc, to a handheld with 2 windows.

But well i got the game anyway (bought the limited edition thing), but never opened it and used that console as handheld isn't really my cup of tea;P
So can't say i am that driven to play the "remake" of OOT (which is one of the best games i know), and just that should say that it's not a true remake in all it's glory.

But well enough, will be interesting when this new 3DS comes, just to see how it differs, i am expecting an OLED monitor or something!

OK this is the most awkward thing I've seen from Nintendo. Microsoft and Sony do the same thing and sale a lot, but with Nintendo.... it is kinda weird? I mean I can see it's beneficial for people who never had a Nintendo handheld, but for people who are looking to buy an updated 3DS from their previous one, it is probably not going to go well, since people have been hoping for an additional analog stick...

Nintendo's attempt to attract people to non-hackable 3DS consoles, clearly. I never use the 3D on the 3DS but the four shoulder buttons and extra stick are nice. Or rather, the new stick would have been nice if it wasn't positioned so poorly and made so damn tiny. What is this, a console for ants? #Zoolander

TBH Nintendo just wants an excuse to charge full price again for their only modern console that is selling units. You can't really add in-depth support for the two new buttons and stick without alienating all the loyal fans and customers who were early adopters of the 3DS.

OOT on 3ds was ugly crap and hardly playable with the horrible analog buttons.
You know, opinions can't really be "wrong," that's why they're opinions. But when you're pretty much the only person out of hundreds of thousands to have a certain opinion, say this one for example, then you really have to wonder.

Super 3ds would be a good name.

EDIT: On another note, it's been confirmed the new 3DS will be able to play DS games. Missed fucking opportunity by Nintendo. Could have killed All DS and Some 3DS exploits by that alone.
That doesn't seem like a good reason to kill backwards compatability. In fact, that even more of a pull towards people getting the New 3ds'.

Does anyone have an exploit past 4.x yet? Even behind closed doors? I assume these new consoles will be shipped with 8.x firmware, if not 9.x, so they'll probably be non-hackable for the foreseeable future.

Dem graphics doe
I'm interested to see the system specs.

I want that blue this if only I waited a little bit longer instead of buying the 2DS sigh I would be amazed if Gateway works the new 3DS I'll wait & see if the nand chip is next to the slot 1 then hello to USB mod after I get mine laughs evilly

I'll bite, but it depends. I'd rather wait for the thing to accurate a few games I want to play before actually buying it, plus I'd be cheaper after a year than it will be day one. Why buy a device now and wait a year for games when I can buy it cheaper when the games exist? I'm hoping we have an HD screen, 720p. I'm hoping my flashcard will work with it, and I'm hoping they have some good games that are exclusive that I can buy with my money.

there wont be a hd screen. it will be the same resolution as currend 3ds. flash cards for ds might work, but maybe they will invent something to block them after all. 3ds flash cards? might as well abandon all hope.

Would you mind posting a source for this? I've been looking this up on Google, and can't find any details (the fact that it's called "New 3DS" makes googling it about as hard as looking up details on various Xbox models thanks to the naming schemes).

I've got two things to say about this.
1. It's a fucking dick move to make the New 3DS have exclusive games since it's not a new console, only an updated version.
2. I've been sticking with my day-1 3DS, and was so envious of everyone with a 3DS XL since it looks great. Now I got a great reason to update to the New 3DS XL... so I'm happy for that. Too bad it's out 2015! Would've been great for christmas!

God, why did they did that for the first release of XL model ? =__=

And I do not understand the "faster" part. Will be some games exclusives to this new revision ? :(

New triggers buttons, better screen (?), R stick, NFC

They mean faster loading times for apps, games etc

Lol yeah okay...I guess thats why its the highest reviewed game on the 3DS.
Tastes are like buttholes - everyone has their own, but it's generally frowned upon when you rub one against someone's face. It's Zelda: OoT - what other score do you think a review outlet could give it not to face backlash from the fans? I personally think the game was not updated enough to warrant a full-price re-release. It was "remade" from the ground and yet "felt" 13 years old - that's a good sign that the remake was botched.
