So, hearing that Xenoblade will only run on the new 3DS is slightly worrying. I don't like that at all. I'll be waiting on how many exclusive 'New 3DS' games are released to make a choice on purchasing.

RSE had shit AI until the Elite 4, shit music, shit overworld, and shit Pokemon. Double battles are useless and only helped bring forth further dumb modes like triple battles and rotation battles.

>music
>overworld
>pokemon
entirely subjective. all of it only improved with every step in my view.

double battles are fun as hell, with harsher consequences and open ways for tons of gimmicky strategies. doubles is even the preferred mode for VGC.

And gen 3 was just an example. There's more crucial features that followed like freakin wifi, physical/special split and so on..
but I still don't know what GSC expanded that was better than these things? Besides morning/night?

I hope you like the equivalent of a vuvuzela chorus blasting in your ear in this horrific MIDI pitch while you play with Digimon.

Also any criticism is entirely subjective. Don't use that excuse.

The only way I could get behind this is if they announce something like a trade offer. Trade in your 3DS/3DSXL and buy a New 3DS for.... 50€?? 70€??

I don't know...

What, have you played RSE?
Excellent Music
Great over world ( oh but too much water, well what region is the game in?)
Pokemon were awesome, it was hard to choose between who you want to stay on your team and who to kick.
Double battles are fun to other people but to me they are a way to rack exp in a single Pokemon.

Yeah but games you bought via digital delivery are still tied to your 3ds, not your account

Y'know taking my criticism and just replacing "bad" with "good" doesn't invalidate them at all.

And yeah I played them. I still have Sapphire around.

I bought a launch model, and held off on an XL model, cuz I had a feeling a model like this would pop up eventually. By the time this is out in America, my 3DS will be almost 4 years old. I'm more than happy to replace it with a new XL model, and its gonna be great to finally have that second circle pad and LZ and RZ built in too (not even the Vita has a pair of second physical triggers built in). So excited! (The NFC stuff is nice too, but not really the reason I'll be purchasing)

I'm taking your opinion and pushing in my opinion showing you that I like this game. I still have my Emerald around which is better than RS. These games are good Pokemon games by all means but not to all people I guess.

Pokémon and Hoenn were decent, but let's not kid ourselves with the music. The only good track was the Regis' theme.
It's my second worst pokémon game (first one is Red/Blue for obvious reasons). They also forced everyone to give up their pokémon a gen behind and make them get the Red/Blue remakes to complete the pokédex.

no thank nintendo. 180$ for console from nintendo is not expensive but just to play one game (at the moment) it is very expensive. I'd rather save the money to buy steamboy. playing pc games on portable device would be great.

1) make your first revision barebones with no features whatsoever, making it so competitive in price it will most likely be successful (nintendo realized the 2DS should have been the original 3DS, when they announced it)
2) get game developers on your side, grow a library
3) now with your established brand on the market, make a revision adding in features that were needed since day one
4) force people to buy it by making revision-exclusive games for it
5) in the long run, it's actually much more expensive than purchasing a single feature-rich system once if you consider buying 2 models of the 3DS compared to, say, the vita

This has the potential to become a new pattern in the console process. Why sell a system only once, if people are willing to buy it several times over the course of a generation under the threat of "hardware revision exclusives"? "System exclusives" are not worthy enough hostages anymore, it seems.

A similar case happened with the DSi too, right? Except the DSi came too late when nobody cared about it/had no time to establish itself, I guess they are adjusting their shot at forcing people to buy several systems per generation.
Boy, modern nintendo sure has been walking the modern capcom route.

Something worth noting: the vita suddenly became much cheaper than the 3DS, as existing customers won't have to own a second system to play all the compatible games. Guess I'm done using this argument in the favor of the 3DS now.
