Hey ppl, so I was messing around with monster hunter 4 (jap) and when I exited the game it reverted back to my original firmware but all my eshop games were gone, I checked my SD card and all of them seem to be missing. These were legit bought games from eshop and with no way back on eshop right now I don't think I can redownload them yet. Any ideas?

Did you at any point backup your SD card? Typically this is done when installing emunand since it formats the card in the process. If not I think you might be stuck until gateway updates their firmware to support eshop. :(

Ok weird thing, I was looking at the data management for 3DS software and I can't see my system memory? the blocks have been taken up so the games are still there but its not reading the system memory????

EDIT : To give more context. When you click on 3DS software in the data management tab it only loads up SD card data not system memory. However, if I go to DS software it loads both system and SD card files, which is why I can see zelda four swords but not my other eshop games?? Any ideas for me.

maybe stupid question from me, but sometimes this can happen.. are you in gateway mode or normal sys nand mode? maybe some bug kicked you out of emunand and you just need to boot back to gateway mode? I have seen this happpen, when people just got confused

I have restarted the system and loaded both normal and gateway mode but the 3DS doesnt seem to want to load the system memory. I'm assuming I may have to do a system format maybe???

Sounds to me like some sort of file corruption.. I'm not sure how you would fix this, especially if it caused by a malfunctioning SD card. Try backing up your SD, do a format a re-load the data to SD card. Unless someone else has a better idea?

It doesnt seem to be the SD card cause I can still get my save files from gateway, its the 3DS system memory itself that seems to have been corrupted

Here are some pics

3DS data menu

and DS Ware

As you can see I cant see the system memory in the 3DS software management but I can in the DS Ware

going into data management in system nand will delete any content bought/downloaded whilst in emunand, not sure if this is what has happened here, but its a known issue, it happens because sysnand doesn't have the "license files" for the content that you have so it just deletes them

GOD DAMN!!!! well that solves that, is it possible to redwl them again when emunand can get back on eshop without having to repurchase them again? and also isnt my 3ds system memory kinda low for games that were deleted as well? Just wondering.

you *might* be able to do a file recovery on the SD card, i presume the 3ds just marks them as deleted on the filesystem, but leaves the data intact assuming nothing else has been wrote to the SD card there is a good chance you could recover them, but to answer your question if/when eshop is available again you should be able to just redownload them

Hmm what would be the way to recover them? If your not sure its no big deal, I still have my gateway that works and the games from eshop were not a really big loss to me

The eShop also has a repair data option hidden in other settings IIRC. This kept the saves that weren't too damaged when my SD card decided to eat itself. (again assuming the files aren't actually deleted, try recuva if they are).

not tried this program before, but have a go with http://www.piriform.com/recuva just insert the SD card into the computer and scan it, hopefully you should just be able to restore the files, you have nothing to loose really, but i have recovered quite a lot in the past with such tools, the less activity on the storage since the deleting the better

That there, is your problem. You shouldn't have checked.
Didn't you know that going into data management outside of emunand automatically deletes all your downloaded files?
The 3DS thinks all the files fail DRM check and deletes them all.
