Thing. Its not like letting a company get away with bypassing copy protection is making Nintendo any money after all Sure might be a handful of semi legit users but in the grand scheme of things id imagine most gateway users wasn't planning on buying any games

I'll try on mine ill edit in my result

Edit: Error Code 005-4240 for me when trying to get into the e-shop which means its down at the moment.

I tried again and it just got stuck trying to get in then it told me about the update is needed before it will let me in the eShop

I get error code 005-4040 and dont force me to update and the update in settings is giving me a freeze on this on a real nand not emunand

I Cant speak for Emunand I don't have a gateway. I have simply just not updated yet

out of the very few percent who use gateway, nintendo does not care about the very few percent of those gateway users who buy games on eshop, or play retail games in classic mode etc.

do you really think that in nintendo's labs or whatever they have, they were thinking, 'hmm, i regret blocking out emunand, think about all those lost sales'.

It's normal for eShop not to work while you're not on the newest firmware (8.0 now). It's been like this since 3.0, or whatever was the second FW with eShop.

It's in french. I have the same thing because my 3DS is set in french. It didn't change at all.

Basically this changes nothing. They're still on track and it's not a hindrance at all.

You may have noticed that system firmware 8.0.0 has recently been released.
We have analysed this update and we want to advise our users the following:

- Currently do not update emunand to this version as it will not boot. Old emunand versions (7.x or lower) will keep booting fine.
- If you did update emunand, do not worry. Our next firmware update will bring your updated emunand back to life.
- This update uses the same encryption as 7.x, only applied to more system processes which prevents emunand booting.
- We are still on track on getting our next firmware out, this update does not change much in our game plan.
