I think the update has already downloaded to your system if you get that message, Right? If thats the case, Your going to have to install it before you can move forward... No other way around it AFAIK.

NO ! just shut down the console when this message is popping up.

Do not press OK. Just hold the power button until the Wii U turns off, then wait some seconds.

Then turn it on again.

It bothers me once each day... Revoked it each time :)

And after you do this, you can just block the update servers and it'll never bother you again. You'll get a "Download has failed" in the download manager, but that's it.

block the update servers ?

You mean configure the ip in the router ?

If so: how/what is the ip to block ?

EDIT: Isn't the update already ON the console when this message is displayed ?

Yes, this is true pasc however it would be interesting to know the IP address so that I too could block this from automatically downloading and installing on its own... - although does this block access to the nStore?

sure, you can turn off downloads, but in the end, if there is an update and you wanna acces eshop, you have to update or else it wont let you load eshop.... so you can just block the ip and wont have eshop access either, its the same in the end, you wont have eshop either way
I'm still on 4.0.2 due to my router blocking the ip and I dont need eshop, I buy my games as discs

edit: I'm actually considering to update to 5.0 as people say, it didnt fix the homebrew exploit, however I just dont see any realy realy realy interesting features in the new software versions... still not sure what to do ^^

oh i also buy all my games from the shop as i dont want to pay the same price for a digital version. i like having the psyical version insructions and all :)

the only thing i have gotten into recently is virtual console as i do enjoy a little nes/snes playback and its great on the gamepad...

i just dont like waitihg for nintendo deciding on what should be released.... cant wait for emulators on the gamepad... be just like the original psp on roids!!

oh and forgot to mention the store came in handy when i needed to claim my free game with mariokart 8 ")
