hey, so anyone played youkai/yokai watch? it's been out a while, but i have been busy
i played and liked the demo, i thought it was cool.
i'm really really enjoying it, i don't want it to end, but it seems it will take a long time to finish, well, if not finish, at least to get all the medals etc...
the story and quests are funny, the youkai are weird, it's nice.

i'm C rank at the moment, like 11 hours in, i played a lot in the past few days but started a month or so ago.

i just haven't talked to anyone else about the game, so i want to hear what you have to say, don't spoil anything though

it's getting translated, which i'm surprised about, although i thought tomodachi collection getting translated was more weird lol

Yeah I have been playing and its awesome. Level 5 games always are. youkai watch 2 comes out in july!

from the gasha coins, i got two gold capsules (amonst other things etc), which have A rank youkai in them, without getting one, the game would have been pretty hard for me so far
just for fun, i tried save resetting for a gold capsule, but i got the same item each time when i used the same coin... i'll look into it a bit more, but that's ok.

I had one from gold capsule too, but decided not to use it because my Yokai were over-levelled for the storyline.

Save resetting does not work, even for the game coins you get. I think it is randomised each day though.

so i wonder if it is possible to get youkai in capsules from using playcoins... maybe not?

and over levelled? wow, did you spend a long time grinding or something, or, trying to get all the youkai you could?

hmm... there is an arrow that tells you where to go basically (which you can turn off), and i think you can turn off another useful thing on the map too, but... if you don't know japanese, it will be hard to know what to do...
like, you will have trouble with many of the quests, like, one little quest was, 'bring me 3 cucumbers', and, if you don't understand what the woman is asking for, then you can't do that really.
if i didn't understand anything in the game... i think it would be very difficult, frustrating, you wouldn't know what items recover more hp than others (the items are not like 'restores 20 hp', it is like 'restores a bit, restores a lot'... etc) so, to be honest i wouldn't play if it you don't know any japanese at all.
if you know SOME, then, sure... have a go, the level of japanese needed is not super high, it is for children etc

i noticed that were are not any guides out (in english), often someone will make a little guide translation or something, helping people who don't understand anything get through the game. if you really need help, ask here, i'm sure people will help, at least, i will

I think it is random. I think it was a purple type.

i found a nice page that lists all the youkai you get from the gasha machine (although i'm not sure how they can be sure it is 100% complete but whatever)

and, yes, if you try save resetting for what you want from the machine, it won't change, the thing you get is already determined when you receive the coin. BUT, you can save before you get a coin, and then use it, if you don't get what you want, then you can reset and get the coin again... etc

i just finished the game, i'm about to play the post story stuff i got my first legend youkai. (getting ホノボーノ too me like 7 battles with him...)
the ending credits were funny
i spent about 35 hours to this point, the last game i played and finished was a link between worlds, and it was nice but, a little easy maybe, i've never played portable zelda games really.

Honobono is difficult to get, even with pastries.
You should watch the anime if you really like the game, it is funny too.

50 hours here, S Rank. Not playing for now because I don't really know what else to do other than to fill up everything.

I heard the newest Zelda game was way too short.

yeah, although i really like and enjoy the game... it's going going to be a chore to full the whole dictionary... haha
but i want to see what happens when i do it. although that might mean i need to take a break of youkai when then 2nd one comes out if i play this too much

Dewdrops how do you get to the other side of the top floor in the abandonded hospital? i climb the vines and get to one half of the top floor, but i can't get to the other side? theres a man there for a quest i need to finish.

i'm s rank now, played about 60 hours, i finally realized what to do with the dancing stars, maybe i just never went to the community center at night ha. getting all the youkai, and then all the poses... that's a scary thought.

i have 111/236 youkai, which i am happy with, i'm trying to get them all, and it will be tough. giving them the item they love the most, using a youkai like モテマクール which supposedly makes it more likely to become friends with them, it's still so tough. sometimes i will have to battle 5, 6, 8 times until i get them. if the youkai is a rare one then... ha.... good luck!

walking up and down the museum stairs until ほね美人 appears, it can take 15 times sometimes until she appears...
add in the low chance to get the medal, it is going to take a long time to get them all...

i found a nice way to get ほむら天狗, there were two trees that it appeared to only be in, so i saved there, and going to the title, seeing if it's there, back to title... etc, i got it in about 10 minutes.

if we could give youkai multiple items, that would make it nicer a bit, making the process easier.

There is a vine within the 2nd storey of the right side. It's hidden somewhere at a balcony where there's some light shining through.

True, if we can give youkai multiple items, things will be a lot easier. It's difficult to get all of them.

It is not possible to get all Youkai without some QR codes.

Getting all the poses would be crazy.
I'm stuck at 149/236 Youkai, 55 hours. I only roll the gashapon machine and quit the game later. I have been putting more playtime into Pokemon (only to sort out boxes and attempt some progress on the Pokedex, nothing much) and Tomodachi Life recently.

I have unlocked infinite hell, which is probably the toughest place in the entire game. Plan to explore there more and get everyone to level 70+ when I get back into this.

I have tried モテマクール but didn't really find that he helps much.

yeah, i fought the first two bosses of infinite hell, and they were tough for me. i don't think i will be able to finish it without leveling up more, my team is about level 60.
although, ha, the little rice guy youkai (i forget his name, the guy in the youkai world, you need to pass the s rank door, and you can battle him once a day) is harder, i can't beat him... he just keeps healing himself so much. i haven't tried for about a week so maybe i will be able to do it now.
and the guy in the sewer, after you open all three levers... he's impossible for me at the moment...

i wonder if you have multiple モテマクール/the heart dog youkai, if that would increase it even more?

i'm pretty sure there's a door in one of the apartment complexes, on the top floor, it's locked, it says i need a key or something, have you got in there?

i have two of the special S rank youkai from the gasha coins, just 6 left... haha...
i find it hard to get rare bugs and fish, sometimes i can time it right... but usually not.
and oni-time... i never get more than 1 item... it's hard for me too.

i played pokemon when it came out, i didn't do any of the stuff post game i'll get around to it one day, and i have tomodachi collection/life, it came with my 3ds (bundled digitally) but i never got around to playing it, it doesn't seem that interesting i think, but yes... i never gave it a chance ha.

I played again today, managed to get past infinite hell's 4-5 bosses. There was one which was really tough, and I was lucky to only get one Oni from oni time. That was scary - the Oni time Oni was harder than all the bosses, but wow, you can grab all the items after that though. My Youkai are now about level 60-70.

I hate recruiting, it's tough to get Jibanyans to join over so that I can merge them with other Youkai to become Warunyan and that spiky furball thing...

There is a rice guy? I have to check that out.

oh i haven't seen any jibanyans, i guess i didn't get to that floor yet ha.
so below level 70 you can defeat the red oni? cool, i'll have a go... i read you get harder versions of it afterward though... ha
i'd love to kill that red oni, then pick up everything. oni time is like the worst version of hiding from the guards in ocarina of time, i haven't played other games where you have to be steathly.
yeah i made a warunyan by 'accident' as soon as the merging thing opened up, i saw you could get jibanyans from gasha coins so i thought i was going to have to rely on that to get togenyan (who i coincidently captured in the fushigi lens today), nice that i can find them though, thanks

and yeah, the rice guy is d rank, but he is very strong (for my team), he's rare, number 118, こめ爺.
drop down the s rank door in the youkai world (it's the first drop that you are able to fall down), walk over the fork (it's in cake land remember ha), there are 3 youkai, speak to the little guy.
even if i beat him, he might not be my friend, although, being d rank i think they are more likely to give you the medal, rather than higher ranks.

i've been trying to get number 11 (the rare s version of the old samurai thing, when you merge the head and body together) 黄泉ゲンスイ for days (like the guy above, you can only fight him once a day) and still not got him yet, although he gives 12,000 exp so it's still worth while. do you know about that place? (竹林のおんぼろ屋敷)
if so, any other places like it where there are youkai that you can fight once a day? there's three i know about, the guy in the sewers, the guy i mentioned in the youkai world, and this samurai thing.

i read something about some golden egg, something or other, maybe i misunderstood it, getting プラチナカク, i'll try that.
also about checking the bookshelf in the book store, and then you can give money to the shrine in おおもり山, after 20 times a rare youkai comes out or something, not sure if the same one each time. i don't you you need to do it every day, 20 times in a row, just, 20 times. i might be wrong about that, i'm on day 3 anyway.
