As a miserable clone card owner, I will see what they can get there.

1 post count user. Suspicious indeed.

Not that i'm believing it more or less , but he linked to a chinese forum where the poster who got the message has way more posts

Why would you trust a clone company after the last wave of bricks?

Why people then trust gateway when it's their fault brickins appeared in the first place?. There are enough ways to restore the nand tho now, there are people with the usb mod that can easily test the update. Or maybe there is no need tho since SUPPOSEDLY they can't update the fpga then maybe the update is something original done in a different way.

It would be technically possible for them to add eshop and homebrew support afaik, but not multi-Rom or nand saving, more likely it's just bs to still try to scrape the last few sales

A more accurate translation would be:
Sender: I heard 4.0 is still in testing, could you share some current functions, as well as any other functions to be added in the future?
3dslink: Within the next week, we'll release v4.0B1. Updated game support.

No mention of nand-based games, multi-rom, etc.

They hacked the GW once, they could do it again, those chinese people are very talented in those storys

lolno, I'm Chinese and I can say for certain that most from the mainland are not as "talented".
"Talented in imitating and reverse-engineering", that's a yes.
The clones' FGPA can't be updated on their current hardware, doubt they could do much from there without releasing another "Wi-fi 2.0 Editionz"

However, they might have been able to support SDK 5+ games on a 1.2-like firmware, or simply stole from mt-card :P

I don't give this any credit, but hey, who knows? I seriously doubt anything like emuNAND or card2 game support.

lol....i think i know their "plan".......release 3.0 (gateway b1)....again, and brand it as 4.0b1 lol...yay for "Updated support on many games."

Lolno XD , it was dirty to rename an old version as new but it was for a greater good to stop the brick wave.

Also I have sent them an email if this was true and if they could show a vid , they have quickly answered me with just a "Yes , we're going to release 4.0b1 in a week". Ofc i'm sceptical about this ( not that I have a problem being able to play to the large majority of the games) , but I think something might indeed be coming ( if it's "only" eshop games or also nand saving ones and maybe even other features I don't know) , why there would be a need to say a version number instead of just say again "new firmware coming soon" ? Anyways they said 1 week so we'll know soon if they are lying or not

yeah but now they know 3.0 is safe, it makes sense they would just use the same tactics again to look like they are doing something, and re-releasing 3.0 would indeed fit in with "Updated support on many games."......when compared to their current "latest" FW which was 2.0 rebranded as 3.3b

really there is nothing that wrong with 3.0 its a bit buggy with saves etc, but compatibility wise its much better than the jump back to 2.0........if they where really adding eshop or homebrew or anything like that im sure they would be shouting it from the rooftops :P

rebranding 3.0 wouldn't need so many months tho :/ if I would have to do that I would do it max 1 month after no confirmed bricks. Also the number of games needing 3.0 is not THAT big XD

I don't expect anything , I'm still fine being able to play the large majority of the games. But I think this time they will release something

i hope it supports multirom......

yeah let's hope they did it, supporting multiROM will make pression on other teams & get competition in the scene then we could see GW & MT teams looking to support 5.+ & 6.+ firmwares to stay on the top, that will make more & more fan....

Hi there!! the question that pops up in my head is, does this card have a FPGA thingy built-in to make the magic opperate?

Then any new fw exploit would warmly welcomed!
