Hacking Can a wifi connection establish, auto..?

Hi All,

I woke up this morning to find out to my horror my Aqua Blue 3DS had automatically created a wifi link!!! Now as far as I remember, and I do, I had deleted all my wifi connections of the list and parental locked it but to my surprise or should I say shock it was there bright as blue and functioning on Systemnand and to boot, it had downloaded YouTube! I was like, WOTO!!!. I didn't think this could happen, anyone know? TA

Did you change the wifi setting on emunand? It'll change wifi setting in sysnand too.

No, its been the same for along time. 1 wifi connection in my house on emunand and all locked off in systemnand, I made sure!

I had the exact same thing happened to me yesterday opened my 3DS found YouTube on it but I suppose that's my fault forgot to remove the WiFi settings from the system nand.

It could of been yesterday it happened to me as well. It was just I opened it today for FC codes. I'm 110% sure I erased my wifi connection settings of systemnand. Was yours an Aqua Blue 3DS as well and was your wifi up and running on systemnand?

No mine is black 3DS XL and unfortunately yes my WiFi was up and running on system nand luckily it didn't download any system update , I probably wouldn't have even noticed if it wasn't for the YouTube app.

I would of never either but I noticed the wrapped up YouTube app and then my wifi was on all blue signs showing. Then I thought the worst that maybe an update had happened, I panicked for a minute going straight into settings to check it had not. Infact thinking now if it wasn't for the parental lock on it I bet it would of updated by itself!!!

Yeah I panicked as well but I figured if it didn't annoy me with this pop up message to update the 3DS no harm done and I'll never leave it in sleep mode again.

We'll I know setting up a WiFi connection in emunand causes the WiFi settings to get copied to system nand, not sure if maybe modifying other stuff in settings I.e date or something like that might do it too

Are you sure you didn't go to a public wifi area? ("Nintendo Zone")

Same thing happened to me today.
I also removed the wifi settings in my sysnand, but today they reappeared and the system downloaded the youtube channel.

It will NEVER update by itself. It may download an update but it will ALWAYS ask you first.

It didn't on mine. I just double checked, and the connection I set up in emunand a few weeks ago is there, and there's most definitely nothing there in the system nand.

Why would I want to lie about it?. Come on be real!. The same issue has happened to someone else. All I did was turn my 3DS on to put a FC code in it and bang there it was my wiifi connection up an running with YouTube downloaded.
