It means that if you don't own the console but instead play on an emu, you're pirating both the game and the console (Assuming you also don't own the game. I see little reasons to buy games when you don't even have a console to play it on.)
"Pirating" might not be the most accurate term but you know what I mean.
The console isn't copyrighted, you can't pirate it. Using an emulator of a console you don't own is perfectly legal.

And i've bought games for consoles i don't own before. I also still have games for consoles i no longer own. I don't think that's as rare as you might think.

Excellent smitters now we will be able to play 3DS roms on our cpu as well & might be able to use flash cart files in the emulator for bonus features laughs evilly ha ha ha ha

I think playing commercial ROMs should be the goal regardless. But don't worry, it probably won't be achieved until a 3DS successor is released anyways lol.

I can't wait for the 4DS can you imagine the graphics for it 4D will literally almost be like real life :)

I can't imagine it at all... Because 4D cannot be perceived or visualized in any way.
And btw, 3D is literally almost like real life (i.e. Virtual reality) XD
4D can be theorized in math tho.

Yeah your right i'm guessing 4D would be in between or even a mixture of stero scopic 3D & Blue Ray just refering to graphics no disc on 3DS :)

But the fourth dimension of this universe is time, it can be perceived and visualized through the evolution of our environment...

So how does that apply to Parasite X's logic then?

Oh but I wasnt talking to him as I knew we werent talking about the same 4th dimension, I was talking to you in the first place who said the 4th dimension could not be perceived or visualized, well it can, it just depends of which 4th dimension we're talking about ;)

And I was talking to him in the sense that it doesn't work in his logic.

The name of this thread should be changed to like "3ds debugging tool" or something lol. Too many confused people lol

i was thinking , why they don't emulate the 3DS system it self , or even copy it
i mean only the system without the games
because i am interested to see how the steetpass will work this way

Well even though I'd love to see a functionnal 3ds emulator that could play roms, I feel like we should give a chance to nintendo, we're already hacking their console, lets not make people be able to both download the games and not even pay for the console, I think that playing rom shouldnt be the main goal of this work until the 3ds has a succesor...

Nothing wrong with an emulator being able to play games, as one could argue the case that 1. people can already dump their own carts, and 2. Once at an advanced enough stage, emulators do provide potential benefits above and beyond what the original console can provide...

Playing 3ds retail games on the PC would be absolute shit compared to the actual console: slow speed, no 3d, clumsy interface, no online, bugs...

I don't think playing a game on an emu will be a sufficient replacement for playing the real game (or a GW ROM, which is a much more difficult proposition).
It will, however, give the player a sense of whether the game is to their liking, which essentially makes the emulator a glorified demo station.
