Hi,
I ordered the R41 Gold 3DS card, my current 3DS version is: 4.5.0-10E.
I want to buy a few games from the e-shop, but i can not do it until i will do a system update.
I do not know to what version it will update my 3DS, and i'm afraid to do so because maybe the card wont work.

So my question is, can i safely update my 3DS?

Thanks

Ok, do you know maybe to what version it supposed to update after this one?
So that in the future if they will patch it ill know that i can safely update it... ugh. but i guess if you don't update it a long time it will automatically jump to the latest one. meh.

Thank anyway :)

Use Gateway 3ds emunand to buy the games without updating the real nand but dsiware and gba are not working.

7.xx is the last one

Ok! Hang on...

When you update online, it always take you to the LATEST firmware, which in this case would be 7.1.0.16. This means you'll loose the ability to use linkers (aka 3DS flashcards).

If you want to use a linker card (gateway, any gw clone or mt-card), don't update your original sys nand to anything superior to 4.5. "Unfortunately", the only linker that support 7.1 emuNAND is GW.

Cheers!

Get the gw_install.nds file and put it on the r4i, get the 2.1 omega launcher.DAT file and put it on the 3DS' SD card, run GW_install.nds, backup your 3ds' SD card, go to ds profile in 3ds settings and format emunand. You do not need a gateway card to use emunand, and if you update emunand, you can use all eshop stuff (except dsiware and GBA vc). Make sure you do not update your real nand. Your 3ds is much more valuable on 4.5.0

Yup! Exactly... I forgot mentioning you don't need to OWN a gateway to use emuNAND. Just GW 2.1 Launcher.

Cheers!

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol

I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare

@Psionic Roshambo, I have a rom of the ds version of impossible mission
