Ah crap. I guess I have to buy this then. Cheers.
What about technique wise?

sorry, i'm not really the best solderer, my hands can be a bit shaky, i would never want to do work for anyone else, just watch some youtube videos and practice on old stuff reallyWhat about technique wise?

heeeeeelpl
where is exactly the cmd pin in a classic nintendo 3ds?
gw3ds kills my console and I am trying to restore the nand
Is there an alternate point for the CLK on an XL?
Where? Not sure how I would be able to remove the epoxy without damaging the chip.

top tip! use the edge of your nail and just keep rubbing along the edge of the chip until it breaks away, then you can pick it off easy enough, better than risking using a knife or something like that, unlikely to damage anything with your nailWhere? yeah from what i have read it gives around 15-20Mbs iirc with the extra /dat points connectedI did several of this mod so far using the 4 wires micro USB connector and my avg read/write speed are around 5mb/s using only DAT0.
Is it possible to boost read/write speeds by using the other DAT lines?
Thx.

personally i would hope people wouldn't be reading and writing their nand often enough to need the extra speed
I have an idea, too: why don't you just tell us what you're trying to do? Less effort for everyone involved.Off 2ALL: I have an idea which may make downgrade possible. I need some of your help, so if you have a NAND-adapter soldered and/or Gateway please PM. It won't involve your system flashing.

Well, the main idea was that the unique per-unit key used to encrypt NAND partitions is not changing with the firmwre update. And this appears to be true, so we can transfer changes of partition data from 4.5 to 7.1 or vice versa. But I had a conversation with Yellows8 at 3dbrew.org and he confirmed that some console-unique AESMAC initialization data stored on encrypted CTRNAND partition is changed during system update. In that case AESMAC will initialize with the wrong value and boot will fail.
