Interesting difference. Out of curiosity, what firmware version is your Wii U on? I can't say I've searched all that much but I had only seen 0000000c and 00000017 before.
 
I have a 4.0.3 too and I have 2 files of 3.7M in this folder : 0000001a and 0000009b (exact same size)
I don't have 00000017 nor 0000000c but I have 00000018, 00000019, 00000099 and 0000009a
 
Interesting ... and the information I have was actually off of someone else's dump both times. One was Marcan's Wiimpersonator and the other was a tester. I'll have to check my own console next time I get a chance.
Different nand extractors give different names.

No matter 00000017.app(US vWii) or 0000001a(EUR vWii), it's the 00000008.app
in SystemMenu. (3778KB)

I have used "ancast image decrypter" to decrypt this file (become 3504KB ? )
from my US vWii NAND dump and done the necessary "region free everything
patch". (base on this: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Preloader/Priiloader/hacks#System_Menu_4.3_only)

Now my problem is I don't know how to "encrypt" this file back then I can
test under vWii sneek. (it doesn't work to use the "decrypted" file in vWii sneek)

BTW, it's of no use to put those "patch" (hacks) to SMenu.c of sneek esmodule
after more tests.

it only dumps the encrypted portion of the ancast image as a raw memory dump. The original is in DOL format and there's also some header information that to the ancast image itself that's not dumped http://wiiubrew.org/wiki/Ancast_Image as well as a stub of some sort that's written to 0x80003400 (IIRC) that's not dumped either.

yeah, I think because of the bootROM the hardware needs SOMETHING encrypted in order to start at all. the 1-512 title is usually what's needed to run other non-encrypted titles from NAND. The trick with the system menu, though, is that even un-encrypted it occupies the same memory area as that title
 
Is possible to run vWii OS on the current builds of dolphin (preferably Dolphin Emulator 4.0.2)?
