So, I realize that you don't need some stuff that's inside the DS for it to operate. Could you just use the bottom only, and leave stuff out? Like a GBA? Thanks Tempers!~

Yes, you can fully remove the top screen, short the right pins on the ribbon and the system will still function. You can also remove the top speakers and if I'm not mistaken, the WiFi antenna, essentially the whole top and then some... I just don't know why you'd want to do that - it cuts down the functionality substantially, you might as well but a GBA SP instead.

Maybe he has broken top connector like i had on one of my boards.

Never managed to get the right connector since people were selling the bottom connector as the top one making it impossible to line it up correctly since they are not the same. I got pictures explaining it if there's any interest.

Just put a 1k resistor between LEDA2 and LEDC2 and its done, got pictures on that too if there's interest.

There are guys that have done this, check them out.

You are correct! :) The connector on top is completely broken!

B-)

You can connect the speakers without the use of any ribbon too, it's the SPLO and SPRO points in the same area as the LEDA2 and LEDC2.
I was contemplating on salvaging the speakers from a dead PSP i have since they are smaller, I want them facing forward and there's not enough space for that if I use the DS speakers.
