Can anyone suggest what I may have done wrong? I followed all the instructions as per usual and now none of the games work when I use multirom... They freeze and crash too regularly to even get past the first few screens.

Going to try a full reformat when I get a chance, but it will be annoying to resetup everything with my nintendoID

try other sd card

Now that we all have a taste of final 2.0 and how multirom will work, is it a good idea to trim the ROMs (or remove update data with 3DSExplorer)?
PS: Trimming does not reduce the size as much as removing update data.

Is it dangerous in any way?

Thx!

IF you read the last couple of pages of posts, you'll see the entire conversation people had about this already. Some people are saying games aren't working after being trimmed, other are saying they work fine as long as they weren't super trimmed, and CARD2 games will not work trimmed apparently. There's your refresher coruse, but I'm no expert, so I'd suggest going back and reading previous posts.

Indeed I should... no excuses!
Thx for the tip, though!

Cheers!

EDIT: I guess I'll have to test trimming the games... saving precious space is more then necessary now :P

Trimming is always safe, as it doesn't delete actual data. Removing update partitions is counterproductive as it permanently alters the rom just for the sake of saving a bit megabytes. CARD2 games like Animal Crossing and Pokemon MUST NEVER BE TRIMMED.

Updating FPGA failed a couple of times for me...
I thought I had a fake 3DS. It completed successfully the third time I tried.

Is there anything else to make sure I'm running an original GW?

EDIT: So far so good! multirom works perfectly.
Will try pokemon and AC NL

bumping my question because i really want to try this out Do i need to reinstall the gw launcher with the blue card if i've never updated from 1.2? Or should i just copy over the new launcher.dat in the sd card and (after backing up nand) format an emunand and then update the 3ds in gateway mode?"

Has that issue been fixed that beta 2 had with the emunand version where you can accidentally update the system nand?

Very simple way to make this a non issue... Just change the layout of your icons in Emunand to take up two rows instead of one. You would be hardpressed to get it wrong after that.
One row = Not safe, you aren't in gateway mode!
Two rows = Fine, do what you like.

Oh and to answer your question no it isn't fixed. Someone explains it quite well earlier in this thread
