GW won't put signature check patch on their launcher. Like it has been explained before , that would open the possibility of launching any kind of unsigned code , which in turn it would mean that the possibility of making a homebrew channel that make the red cards useless would be pretty real.

This will pass sig check on red card exactly. I think it's good to run homebrew from card slot, because games don't need to be encrypted specifically to one console, like eShop downloads do. So, for red card sake, this is only possible explanation.

thinking about it, if gateway really wanted to enable this kind of thing, but pretty much not allow rom loading from the SD slot, maybe they could intend to redirect eshop content to load from the red card

that would make the red card still required even if they disable the sig checks which would tie in with the release group saying they have it running on flash cards, if they had patched the sig check they could of just ran it from the SD slot, unless they do indeed have access to some beta gateway code which prevents that.

i think we should already know that some groups are more closely "connected" than what is public acknowledged anyways

that "could" even be the method they are using to run nand saving games

The latest is the E-Shop games need Signature Checks to be passed "No Flashcards at this moment will work, further updates will follow" that was took straight from a site of mine and as I said before GW will come through with this way of using them in there next update, looking good GW users! I think we all will be hearing real soon on the next update and I predict in the next few weeks years at least!

There. Fixed it for you. You had a typo

The groups are more closely connected with each other than with flashcart makers, the groups themselves or close associates have the methods outside of the flashcart makers, obviously they need to be able to test that they can run the eshop roms on Uncle Johns and cousin Amandas 3ds's or releasing them would be pointless

Considering Gateway likely did not know about this before now and they STILL haven't released a fix for Pokemon/AC, "somewhere in 2014 hopefully probably" would be a better guess.

Um, dont get your hopes up, Gateway where unaware of E-Shop releases, and arent just gonna add bypassing of signature checks which they could have done all along if they wished, considering 2.0 is basically finished up, they arent going to add newer features at this late stage

Or they could pull a "we had delays because we were trying to add support for eshop games. eshop games will work in 3.0 which we aim to release by the end of this century. hang in there!"

again . NO , they have said with the current exploit we have now patching the sig checks could have been done in even gateway 1.0 . They are not going to put sig check patchs because THERE IS A CHANCE THEIR CARD IS NOT NEEDED ANYMORE

But you need to run it from red card, so even if someone creates homebrew that installs itself to NAND and allows running roms fro SD card, you will still need to use the red card once.

So, why these dumps are converted to ROM type? Maybe, because you don't need to sign it specifically to console after decoding to be able to run it from cart slot?

Not sure if I understand the latter but eShop games are very similar to cartridge games.

The game was already made digital-only because of a lack of support.
Now people are hunting to pirate it.

Eh.

We've had different opinions in the past Black. But this time we agree. Buy the damn game, guys. It's really cheap and worth the price. Every purchase gives us a higher chance of a physical version of Ace Attorney 6, which is confirmed and on it's way for your information.

God you're an idiot.
Oh and your previous comment about topology data and xgd3 backups on the xbox 360 is full of crap. Not even sure what you're comparing, topology data (not capitalized btw fool) is the physical characteristics of the disk, so that might be the amount of correctable errors in an area, the jitter etc.
How in blue buggery is this got anything to do with that?
None, the patches made available were actual topology data taken from genuine disks.

Sig checks are patched on the firmware side, you can't remove them from a ROM because the checks aren't made by the ROM.

I'll expect you don't even know what "sig checks" actually means, it means signature check, that is to say - check that the ROM has not been modified in any way.

The stupid conversation in this thread is hilarious.

Yes, but they are signed using console own key, that's why copy-paste of NAND/eShop games doesn't work between consoles.

I think I understand what you meant now.
Yes, they are decrypted so they are much like ROMs now. No specific encryption necessary to run it like this.

Sorry, yes my mistake! I should of knew that before I wrote it down, silly me!!!
