Some help needed

I changed ISP and it seems my LAN thingy on my mobo is not working properly so the dude said to get a LAN card but..... i can't find the slot on my mobo to insert it.

Te blue thing aka PCI-E iirc, there's my GPU.
Other than that there's a black slot and next to it it says PCI_E2

Is that the slot? Its kinda small for the LAN cards that i saw.
Btw still haven't bought the card, checking if i can insert the card in PC.

Does it matter what kind of card i get?
The mobo specs says something Realtek.

Though it could well be a failed onboard LAN port, I have seen it a few times, I do have to ask if you had to set options to have it work on your old ISP? Though I have seen dead ports I have seen settings issues more, especially as you are likely to tell me that you strongly suspect part of the telecoms infrastructure around you consists of tin cans connected with string and that usually means the end user is left to pick up the slack.

Did the onboard Realtek LAN port died? That's actually very rare to happened.

Anyway you need a PCIe 1x LAN card. I recommend against USB Ethernet adapter, since they have sloppy performance.

Unless your LAN port is dead, which is highly unlikely, then (AFAIK) there's no way it shouldn't work unless it's a modem/router setting that's off or a setting for your Ethernet connection that's off.

Before getting a new LAN port, open your Network settings, go to Network Adapters, right click on your LAN connection and click Properties, then click on Internet Protocol Version 4 and click Properties below...if you set it to use a certain IP, change it to automatically obtain one.

If it's already set to automatically obtain one, then try logging in to your modem to check some settings and see if anything seems off...

@ fast I had my old ISP for years, worked fine, broke the contract last month.

@trumpet i think it didn't, it worked fine with the old ISP till i broke the contract and that was 6 days ago.
And about x1, there are others too like x16, what's the difference? x16 better?

@ Tom Been connected with a POE adapter thing, one cable goes to the anthena on my house and other goes into my PC. Idk even how i'm gonna connect a modem to it.

I need those with WAN socket right? The one i had before used the phone cable.

Really doesn't sound like onboard Ethernet port went dead. It sounds to me like this modem/router your new ISP supplied doesn't have DHCP turned on. New ethernet port isn't going to fix this problem.

I recommend calling your new ISP and get another tech down there to configure Internet for you. Like others have said, onboard Ethernet port rarely dies.

I don't have a modem, my internet is connected to some kind of adapter. POE iirc.
I'm connected wirelesly.

Have some kind adapter which has 2 ports, one says POE and other LAN.
In POE is a cable which goes to the roof of my house and connects to some kind of wireless thingy, LAN port is connected with a LAN cable to my PC port.

Btw, could it be that my Antivirus Firewall causes the problems?
I couldn't connect my 3DS or any other thing throught Virtual Router, after i disabled the firewall i can connect fine with my 3DS and play online.

Or does the antivirus only affect Virtual Router?

Yup, not the same but its like that. And the problem is fixed.... i think.... idk if my PC was the problem or not.
Haven't get disconnected for days, only the 2-3 days when i got the ISP i had disconnect problems.
