if you have a NAND backup, yes
Complementing our posts (mine and krisztian1997), this USB port only uses 4 wires, which is exactly the amount of wires the Raspberry uses. To use the Arduino method you'll need a 5th one (DAT3).
Cheers!
the port uses 5 pins but you need a cable that has 5 wires which is pretty rare.
Couldn't you use the "GND" one (the one twisted)?
This way you'd have a 5th cable.
Cheers!
Someone tried using that but it didnt worked for him
Do you know what did the guy use the twisted cable for?
If guess that since the cable is thicker than the other and don't have "insulation" (nothing covering it, if you use the cable for data related signals, it will suffer alterations or something. isn't it?
What if you try to use it for GND?
He used it for the GND, using it for data would be retarded because the 3DS eMMC chips are super sensible, from what I read new eMMC chips hate if the clocks rising and falling edge are not squareish
okay, I've sent my 3DS XL off to aliak11. I really hope this works...
