Hardware Thinking on getting a new PC

Amazon have been running a free trial for their prime service for a while now. If the quality/or price of the delivery puts you off, you could sign up for the trial and get free delivery on the PSU and then cancel the trial before it expires and you have to pay. Most items from Amazons uk website can be delivered to European addresses. Or you could try ordering from the Italian Amazon website as it is probably much closer to you.

You mentioned that the person has at least one Thermaltake PSU. Does he have a TR2 series TR-600 ? It's not as good quality wise as the Corsair I expect, but it's certainly not a bad quality PSU.


Bosnia is in Europe so the shipping wouldn't be free (Geographically it is) and with that the customs, they go different with stuff like these but i think its 10% on the product(with shipping price included) then on the price+prodct goes 17% and then u gotta pay for the checkup.....

And nope, the only thermaltake he has is SPS-630M, should i get it cause others say to get it?
 
The Thermaltake brand is a known mainstream brand, that is why it was recommended that it was the better of the ones you listed I suspect. It seems (from what I have read online) to be a decent quality PSU for the price. It comes with a 3 year warranty. Although it has been explained how 80+ certification is not meant to be an indication of the quality of a PSU, it has 81% efficiency at 100% load. It fails the certification because (and again this is from what I have read online) it is single railed and does not meet the criteria for universal input voltages (110-240v) as it only runs on 230-240v.

I can't tell you what to buy. If I had the choices you have, I would buy the Thermaltake. The 3 year warranty is good for the price. It's just a shame that things like this seem expensive for where you live compared to most of the rest of Europe. You seem to have little choice available to you but the Thermaltake is okay :yay:

Quality wise, yes it's better than the Thermaltake. Warranty period is the same as the Thermaltake. Worth the Extra ? IMO, no. Only a longer warranty would be worth the extra. Honestly, the Thermaltake is okay.

Yeah, i would import but the customs here are weird and shipping and all would be kinda expensive too.
Then i guess i'll go with the Thermaltake one.
It should work fine with the PC i have and that i'll make right?
I know that the Power is not the problem(The new PC is gonna use about 230W) but idk if its ok for each part(i guess that's important too)

CPU: Intel Pentium G630 @ 2.7Ghz
GPU: Nvidsia GeForce GT630 2GB Palit
HDD: SAMSUNG SP0812C ATA
Motherboard: MSI H61M-P20 (G3) (MS-7788)
RAM: 4 GB DDR3 @ 532Mhz (I think its TakeMS)

The PC that i would probably make is:
CPU: Intel Core i5-4570 @ 3.2Ghz
GPU: GeForce GTX 650 1GB GDDR5 GV-N650OC-1GI (There's the same but MSI, but people online told me to go with EVGA or Gigabyte cause they are '' top tier " dunno why)
HDD: 1 TB Western Digital Cavier Blue WD10EZEX (Wouldn't use the old Samsung)
Motherboard: MSI B85M-E33 (microATX so it can fit my housing)
RAM: Would use the same and later upgrade to 8 GB probably


Double check what voltage you have in your country (in the mains). Some European countries use low voltage (~140V) and if what ILuvGames says is true, that Thermaltake PSU may not work.

Just asked, its 220V so its fine right?
 
According to Thermaltake themselves, that PSU wil take 200-240v. I was only referring to the criteria for 80+ certification. All I meant was the Thermal take doesn't meet the criteria for dual voltages (mainly 110-115v for countries like the USA). Also, why would the person be selling it if the voltage was gonna be a problem ?

Yeah and hey, i found in an other shop an other PSU.
Its XFX Core Edition P1-550S-XXB9 550W.
That's better? But you only get 2 years warranty.

From what i saw on internet that one has Seasonic components and its 80+ Certified. What do you say about it?

Thermaltake 36 months warranty, the XFX 24 months warranty.... should i?

And idk now if it would power up the new PC.
I ditched the GTX 650 and now i would get a GTX 660 or GTX 650 Ti Boost ( but i think i would go with 660 cause the dude has it already).
With that the CPU Intel i5 4570 and other components... would be 550W enough for it?

And what about bottlenecking? Shouldn't be right?

Warranty shouldn't matter if the parts last longer. Go with the XFX. And yes, 550w is more than enough.

All of the XFX PSUs are SeaSonic rebrands.
That's not a bad thing if you're wondering. SeaSonic the most well-known dependable PSU company around and they're highly respected by tech junkies

Here's a list of the current SeaSonic rebranded PSUs
Antec - NeoEco series (I own the 620c PSU), High Current Gamers M series, True Power Classic series,
Corsair - HX650, AX 760, AX 860
PcPower & Coling - The entire Silencer series, Silencer MK 3/III 400w to 600w

Unless you're planning on upgrading your GPU at one point I'm against getting a 500-550w PSU if there are cheaper options since I don't even think your build is going to use 300w. If there's no cheaper options or you do on plan on upgrading than go ahead.

I recently got the NeoEco 620c for $41 just because it was cheap, don't plan on doing a dual-GPU build anytime soon.

Nah, I AM upgrading to the GTX 660 but once i get the money for all of it. Atm i'll power the PC that i use right now.
Btw, it says that it doesn't support Haswell and the i5 CPU and the Motherboard are Haswell ones, so again its not good?

The XFX PSU? That's referring to Haswell C6/C7 state. Haswell introduced C6 and C7 state, which is basically ultra low power idling. Some PSU cannot deliver ultra low amperage.

By default C6 and C7 are disabled in motherboard BIOS. Just turn them off if they are enabled. You can use PSU not compatibile to Haswell that way.

I thought that that could make problems but it seems it won't, thanks for confirmation i'll get the XFX in the end then.
 
It's under 'CPU features', Intel C-State [Auto] in the bios of the MSI board you chose. In there is an option to disable it.

That XFX PSU should be super solid. MTBF 100,000 hours at full load at a constant 50 degrees centigrade.
