...and what are your thoughts?

Wife surprised me with one for Christmas. Digging it so far. Ryse is the best looking console game I've ever seen and is pretty fun. Dead Rising 3 has been enjoyable so far. Crimson Dragon is okay.

Spent the most time on Killer Instinct and Max: The Curse of Brotherhood. Both are super addictive and Max is the most fun I've had with a platformer in a good long while.

Kinect also works surprisingly well after looking up the full list of voice commands. Certainly looked like an idiot shouting random commands at the inanimate object. It also recognizes the wife and I immediately now after teaching it our different "looks" (with/without hat, with/without glasses, etc). The only games that make decent use of it are games we'll never play though... Not dancers or...zumbers.

You're wife is a sweetie. But I just returned my Xbone today, never inteneded on keeping it in the first place, but I was really not impressed by it and even if I did anticipate keeping it, I probably would have returned it anyway. For one, I think the console is butt ass ugly. The user interface makes me feel like a dumbed down prisoner, it's almost insulting. Load times, ridiculous amounts of DLC that should be in the game in the first place, lame cloud system (delete stuff and it still there grayed out and cluttering your games list. When I choose to delete something, I want it gone. No data management, no logical organization of anything. I simply don't get any of it.

If I had a wife and she bought me an Xbone, I would feel really bad because I would be forced to return her generous gift.

I wanted an Xbone so I could smash it with a sledgehammer and send the pieces back to Microsoft saying "You sold me a piece of shit!"

No seriously, I'm glad the Kinect sort of works for you; but I'm with ya on the Zumba craze; more like the howstupidcanyoulook craze. But actually, I believe chavosaur has one; someone else on here has one too... I don't keep track of Xbone owners; the Wii U's sales are more important to me.

Xbone is going to ultimately fail. They are on crack ore at Microstaff.

my god every time i see you post its about how you hate something. :glare:

I have an Xbox One (day one edition) and its been enjoyable so far. The Kinect spoils you to that point that if it doesnt work for a second your frustrated, but when it does its excellent.

I don't see much point in talking about things I like. I act upon things I like or find enjoyable and keep them to myself. I vent about things I dislike. There's positives and negatives in life, I choose to be ground. There's a surplus of positive energy out there despite all of the horrible things that happen everyday. That sounds like a bad outlook, but it's true. If nobody talks about the negatives, everyone lives in a fantasy world. I do it to try and enlighten people with a different critical perspective. What effect is there if I say "Hooray the Xbone is out! Let's all play Call of Duty and shoot at one another!!"?

All we're talking about is video games though. And what I see is a generation of consoles that has taken a huge step backwards. The fun is gone for the most part. Nintendo still seems to know how to entertain people though while everyone else is concentrating on simulation and realism. Both of which are right outside the door.

I got one since nov.22 release.

Here is my personal impressions: There is a huge lack of games, like every new video game. Forza is the game that I spent more time on. Max is a 360 game, but it is as good as Limbo is. Ryse is piece of shit, Dead Rising is better than I expected, some sort of GTA with zombies. Killer Instinct is not good enouth to rescue Snes glorious days. Zumba and Just Dance made my wife forget about feeding my children, but it is a signal that she likes it.

The overall impression is the same I got from every video game: avoid getting it early. If you are a freak like me that just cant wait, get it knowing that you still will use your old video game a lot.

^^This. Maybe this is why people think Nintendo can't appeal to core/hardcore/whatever gamers? Of course, a new Metroid/Paper Mario game wouldn't be so bad either... but then if they did make a Metroid game and it didn't look "real", then people would still call it a child's console.

Yeah, I still have a huge backlog of 360 games to work through and I fully expect to be back on there in the next month or so.

I'm ultimately having a good time with it. Actually enjoying Ryse quite a bit. The single player was a tad short but I'm playing through it again on Legendary (legendary is brutal...) and the multiplayer isn't bad at all.

I wish there was a decent couch co-op game though. The wife doesn't quite have the dexterity for Killer Instinct and that's about it for local mp outside of sports games, which we don't touch.

Had my Xbone since day One, loved every minute of it.
I have Dead Rising 3 which is a blast to play, along with COD:Ghosts and the smaller titles like Max and stuff.
My recommendations for you though.

Hall Spartan Assault. It's a good Twin Stick shooter that's surprisingly fun to play, albeit a little short.

Peggle 2, the most addicting arcade title I have ever played in my life.
Absolute blast.

Would you be up for some DR:3 co-op? GT is wrettcaughn

I downloaded Peggle 2 for the specific purpose of giving my wife a game to play. Huge mistake. Now she's addicted and stealing all my time on the Xbox...

I considered getting Halo, but it's the same as the one for tablets, isn't it? It's cheaper there and would give me something to play out and about.

Was at a friend's house and he has one, was actually kind of cool. I also had fun bullying him by shouting "XBOX SIGN OUT" over and over again. The multitasking was also pretty nice, skyped while playing Ghosts, but because his internet is kind of shitty we lagged like hell.

I'd still rather save up to build a high end PC, though.
