so its new years day, no stores available, so I was wondering if there was a way to avoid using a game to softmod this brand new system I got as a birthday present?

found this site, but no other sites mention anything like this, so I haven't the balls to try it, has anyone else seen this and can they vouch for its legitimacy?

if not, another way to get my vWii up n running would be appreciated, thanks

If that were to work, letterbomb would run through the SD card, not USB. Pretty sure it's fake, and the only exploits you can use are on disc-based games.

I'm also looking for a non-game based exploit, but I don't mind waiting because my Wii is already hacked anyway.

It's fake, vWii doesn't have a MAC Adress so you can't use letterbomb, it needs Wiiconnect24 (not sure) but vWii don't have that so it haven't letterbomb, you need some exploits in disc to hack it.

ok forget that then lol

so since ive yet to find what I need, lemme ask a few Qs about the U

1 - can I make my games look purtier in vWii than Wii ? I mean, does it ACTUALLY do anything?
2 - can my vWii go gamepad? if so, how? so like if my girl is watching I dunno... Dan in Real Life, and im dying to play something, can I put it on my wii u gamepad?
3 - is there anyone attempting to 2x vWii ? I mean, make it so the console can emulate the Wii on both the console and the gamepad at the sametime? and possibly connect the 2 so hypothetically, in 1 living room, two can play Monster Hunter Tri multiplayer (not arena) in the same living room?
4 - same questions as 1-3 but with gamecube instead
5 - same question as 4 but with emulators like retroarch instead

and what CANT I do?

1.Yes, the NTSC-U Wii U upscale the games to 1080p, but it will have sawtooth, if you want good quality and low sawtooth, you should choose 720p.
2.Yes, if you put the gempad on when vWii is on, ALL the TV screen will be view on the gamepad, even homebrew.
3.You mean 2 gamepads?, is not possible for now, because the Wii U (Only now) doesn't support 2 gamepads so it can't be
4.Same asnwers 1-3
5.The emulators can be played on 1080p on the TV, and the gamepad screen too.

3. He actually means emulating 2 different Wii systems on one Wii U with different screen outputs. This isn't possible and probably won't be ever.

(That's what I understood.)

no rental places in Toronto anymore

anyways in regards to what I meant, I mean doing 2 wiis at a time, cuz apparently wiiu has enough power to do so, I think its a crazy farfetched idea but it would be amazing

though... even if someone came up with it, im sure it would overtax the wiiu a wii-bit

Happy birthday, are you a new years baby or just getting a present a little late/early?

Also, regarding your question about vWii on the gamepad, worth noting that while yes you can do it, but you still need Wii remotes, nunchucks, classic controllers to play on the gamepad. The controls on the gamepad will not function in Wii games/homebrew. Basically it just takes the place of your TV.

The gamepad does have a sensor bar built in, however.

Just make a list of the games and go to places like Future Shop or Best Buy, even Wal-Mart still has copies of LEGO Star Wars The Complete Saga for under 20 bucks.

I just want to mention a few things for future reference to you and any other (Wii) hacking newbs:
First of all, if the only website you can find about a hack is some blog or website made specifically for the purpose and you can't find any confirmation that it works or any information about it from other sources, it's guaranteed 100% fake.

But on top of all that, those instructions are very vague. "Open the external drive and it will copy the firmware to your Hard Drive"? How exactly do you do this? The Wii U doesn't even recognize a drive formatted for PCs and you can't exactly put files onto a WiiU formatted HDD. "Connect to the web through wireless and through the new menu install all plugins". Where is this menu? Is it under the wireless options? Those things should raise red flags, if it was real then they would put more effort into making proper instructions. This is just something some guy slapped together quickly to get adf.ly hits and earn some pocket money.

And to top it all off: If you bothered to go through the adf.ly link you would've been sent to this page: http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2012/078/c/c/you_just_got_trolled_by_princesszelda224-d4t81jy.jpg which, coincidentally contains this image:

XD knew it, lol

Any special way to get vWii on the pad? Just tried it while I was watching something on TV, by holding b, and I'll assume it was on the screen cuz it ain't on the gamepad

Oh and thanks for the bday wish but it actually already passed, but only jus got my gift now, my girl was pissed at me so she wanted me to think I got nothing from her, so she left it at my brothers house. He left for the holidays n got back for new years so yeah lol

If your Wii U has the newest system update, you can mirror the output to TV and gamepad. The only catch is that the Wii U can tell if it is connected to a TV or not, so when you attempt to open Wii mode, it will require that it be shown on the TV screen. After that, the TV can be turned off or the input changed, and Wii games can be played from the gamepad.

Also note that the gamepad is functional as a display only- you will still need a wiimote to play any games.

What about with the regular video cable? I know with the 360 if you just plugged the composite cable in it wouldn't complain.

You can skip all that by holding B on the gamepad when you turn on the WiiU. Then it will launch directly into vWii and show on the gamepad.
