yes its ok. i have dsi xl and 3ds xl and on the both of them clicky d-pad. i have also psp 1000 and the d-pad is not clicky but the response is Terrible.

so in Conclusion clicky d-pad is good.

yes the d-pad is very loose on my 3ds xl also on the dsi xl but not so much as on the 3ds. i dont know why. but the d-pad works great and that's the most important thing.

hey guys, just wanted to make sure if u guys could have a watch of that. i find my d-pad lifts up a bit. im just a bit concerned because the 3dsxl was dropped by a little cousin :S

thanks everyone who's answered my stupid questions recently!

one final question… my right trigger is a bit looser than my left one which is firmer. is this a common fault/nothing to worry about?

I do not believe looseness is anything to worry about if it is not effecting the function. If it is loose from old springs and causing issues with sticking then that is a problem. Those springs will wear out, but if you arw gentle you should get thousands of hours of gameplay out of them.

My N64 controller still works fine despite the analog stick having lots of play about tje center.
