Hacking R4i Gold 3DS Deluxe Edition Preparation?

Hey guys,

I'm getting my R4i Gold 3DS Deluxe Edition tommorow so I have some questions.

1) If i'm bored of a game, how do I change that game on the micro sd card. Do I just overwrite the file with the disk imager (is this possible?)

2) How do I update the emunand for the r4?

3)If I update the emunand, I know I'll be able to play the pokemon y cart but will my save file be corrupted (previously played on 3DS 6.3 firmware)

4) What happens if I forget to enter starter mode in the beginning of the power cycle.

5) Anything important to note?

Thanks, and BTW if you do the format emunand step, do you lose the launcher file on the sd card?

I dont understand how you save your save files on the computer, can you help? And if we put the save files back after, will it work?

As stupid as it is, can you use gateway beta for the emunand 7.1 because it is just a launcher file after all?

Umm, just copy paste the .sav files that are on the root of the SD card to somewhere safe on the computer. After formatting the emunand, copy the sav files back to the root SD card.

It won't work with the r4i deluxe, but you can run the emunand from it. I'm not sure what will happen if you use the Gateway launcher, update to 7.1, then try using the r4i launcher. I'm guessing it'll have the same problems as you would have currently on the r4i launcher or beta 1 of 2.0 firmware.
