first thing is i know its beta and stuff but putting that aside the 2.0 beta really is useless.

first off
it freezes every 4/5 boots
games dont save and or erase save files
it freezes if you try and load gateway menu after already in gateway mode

dosnt really do anything new compared to 1.2 other then allowing to load games that will crash or freeze on save

and you cant play local connection game

a game i mostly wanted to play was the new mario party with my gf but you cant when selecting multilayer you just get a communication error

all in all i would rather stick with the 1.2version for people on the fence

unless you really do want to spend a tonne of money on the virtual market or play games that freeze when saving it does nothing new

To be honest you're talking bullshit, first it doesn't freeze to everyone just some people, second it works and saves fine for alot of people including me, also you can access the eshop to buy games that work onlne, you can't play online with any card not just gateway, and last stop whining.

Well this is what happens when people continue to pester Gateway staff about firmware updates. They reluctantly give beta releases to placate the users. From now on Gateway should only post updates about firmware releases just prior to the firmware being stable and ready for a fully functional release. The tease updates just prompt hundreds, if not thousands, of questioning messages.

Considering we have beta testers as members here I'd be curious if a sticky thread could be started giving their impressions of how firmware testing is going. That way less people would feel the need to message Gateway about updates.

At the end of the day no one forced you to use the update, we were all told what we was getting in this beta and not all functions were added and working. team gateway has done the decent thing and gave us the beta of the firmware to keep us the customer happy, but still there are people who still moan about not having this function or that function. It gives a lot of updated functions that are good enough to be happy with this beta update. Just be happy you got something as team gateway did not have to give this out yet.....................sudeki300

I wouldn't mind more beta releases in the future. I'm happy to put up with the occasional bug to play with new features. Those that aren't can wait for the stable release. Everyone is happy then :).

One thing you need to be careful of is that
you should backup your saves because i had mine backup up (copy from the 3ds sd to computer)
i done format emunand, afterwards when i went to play some of the games that i was playing before they were gone
when i copied my saves which i kept on my computer they were all back again

so its important to backup your saves every so often and ofcourse more importantly before you format the emunand

i actually have no more issues with gateway 2.0 now well at least in the 4.4 emunand (not updated)
with the 2 games i had trouble where it would white stripe crash ds profile or when it hanged during exiting
i formatted the micro sd's with panasonic sd formatter v4
after that i had no issues since then
also now it exits to home from bravely default without freezing for me

all i can say is on 4.4 emunand seems to be more stable than updated emunand

try formatting the micro sd with panasonic sd formatter if you have problems with white stripe crash, when you have your game in when trying to enter gw mode etc...

plus you dont need updated nand to play roms, only for pokemon animal crossing retail like mentioned on other threads

you say this like if they lose time reading this threads

if you want to tell them they should do something, or either tell them directly, or just shut up...

to OP: if you already know its beta, why whine about it?, instead of making useless threads to complain about beta releases, go mail them or post on official gateway bug reports the issues you are having and what hardware you own so they can work on it

this is so typical on kids, and now here i am complaining about people who complain about people who gave a cookie to people who were complaining about no updates

They aren't talking about them reading forums. In just about every thread on this site, there are tons of posts of people saying they emailed gateway and they are all the same questions over and over. Not sure why gateway even bothers answering them. They probably just have someone who's job it is to reply to emails, but they may feel like they have to rush to put something out due to all the pestering they get.

ridiucle: Here's an idea. Put yourself in their shoes:

Decision #1: Don't release 2.0beta. Get hundreds of emails a day from people asking when 2.0 will come out. Website goes down intermittently due to server load of people wanting the update. Put up with news that "Gateway is shutdown" because people doesn't know how the internet works. Put up with people complaining that "Gateway sucks at supporting their customers" even though no other flashcard team has provided an update provide features beyond what Gateway could offer.

Decision #2: Release 2.0beta. Quell rumors about Gateway being shutdown. Shut people up about whether work is being done or not. Prove that they're loyal to customers. Give them something to play with before getting the final product. Introduce risks of people not following directions and updating their SysNAND, knowing full well that it WILL happen (This is why TESTING is important). At least people can play all the newer games now (and without having to do EmuNAND no less).

Gateway had a forced hand. People forced them to release this beta. You're not helping.

NOT TRUE!
I can confirm myself that mario party works using local multiplayer and download play.
Me and The wife had played a game just fine using my second 3ds on 6.3 fw.

All you have to do is go to multiplayer menu in mario party, there will be a lobby there with your name as the first entry.
On the 2nd 3ds go to main menu, download play and the game will begin downloading.

On the 3ds with mario party running (on the gw) the screen will now show the second 3ds' name as the second entry.
From there you select start game (unless you are connecting more players) and choose the game type and map you want to play.

And i dont believe mario party has online multiplayer as an option so connecting thru wifi isnt even possible.

Got damn, everyone getting mad at this dudes opinion. Lighten up everyone, he was just trying to stimulate discussion.

I have to agree in part. Still waiting on the NAND saving issue. Appears to be a tough nut to crack.
