All the same emulators that are compatible with Wii are also compatible with vWii, with the exception of Gamecube games. (DIOS MIOS doesn't have a vWii version, and Devolution requires that you have a Wii which can play Gamecube games.)

Well, Devolution can work on vWii, but it is quite a pain to set up (there's a guide on here I believe, but I personally think it's too much of a hassle, that and you need a USB controller)

No you don't. You can use wiimotes with pads hooked up, a dual shock 3 controllers in wireless mode and the Wii u pro controller

Whoops, forgot about that lol. I don't have my games with me, so I never bothered to set it up. Isn't it kind of a pain to set up on vWii though (the whole verification process)?

I never had much of a problem with it, I verified it once, hooked up the hdd to the Wii u and just booted up and had it working fine ever since.

How'd you verify? The Wii U isn't designed to accept GC sized discs.
Ripped and verified on my old Wii, the wiimote I used on the Wii I then synced to the Wii u, you boot up your usb loader of choice and your game via the wiimote, i then power on my Wii u pro controller and enjoy

But don't you have to do that every time you load Devolution?

No....you only verify the game once. After that you only have to load the game with the same Wiimote you verified with on the Wii. It really is painless and not as bad as you are thinking

I just need to get my discs from my parents' house and hook up my original Wii and go from there.

You should, really is an amazing piece of software. Kind of baffles me why Nintendo haven't got Gamecube games on the eShop yet
