I respect his decision.
Those items he got sure were nice.
3DS should remain unhacked. I know Gateway seem to be making breakthroughs... But the region lock has aided us in it's own way.
Companies acknowledge the need to localize games in other countries now. Once this happens again... Things might start slipping.
And we don't want that.

Nintendo gives out swag like this at every opportunity. Maybe if he had posted a picture of the 'test cartridge' I would believe this, but without any sort of proof I am pretty much convinced that this guy was just trying to screw with people.

The testing cart isn't gonna have a magical "Hack the 3DS" button. Chances are it would do absolutely nothing to advance the progress with hacking it.

Guy got some damn nice stuff in exchange for it. If I were in his shoes I'd do exactly the same thing.

I highly doubt a test card could actually hack a system, if anything it most likely tests to make sure all the features work properly. So owning it really won't benefit the hacking community.
I also respect him for doing this, he did the right thing and turned it, and I am happy he got his reward as well.

Eh, I can understand him, he wasn't gonna use it. Also, that's some awesome stuff he got here. I mean, 4 games and a Ganondorf figurine ? Lucky bastard.

You`ll never know, a test card used to test the system

>maybe it have extra stuffs

The last test cards dumped for the DS pretty much were just system tests.
Test carts mostly do just that, they test out controls, touch screen, 3D, ect. They are pretty much made test out features to make sure they are working. I highly doubt they would do anything more than that.

>You never know, it may have helped immensely or may have been useless

It is absolutely useless - all those testing cartridges have on-board is some screen, speaker and input testing software. Panda development kits come with the exact same software as far as I remember.

Shows how much Anons actually know about those things.

Awesome. Good job! Nice loot, I hope 3DS never gets modded out of DS Mode.

...a little bit too late for that. :rofl2:

...you're also kinda selfish. I want 3DS to execute unsigned code, being able to code for the platform would be an actual reason for me to get one. :)
