I'd like to make a joke based off one of his book titles, but that'd be kinda mean spirited. I couldn't do it... Without Remorse.

And there's the remorse.

I can't say I've ever read any of his books, or played too many of his games, but the man's had a tremendous impact. His name is a pretty powerful brand all on its own. It's really a shame to see such a prolific author pass away.

Though I found some of his ideas a bit off he probably was one of the few military/weapons types I did not mind and I certainly can not say the computer games world was poorer for his presence.

Never liked his games.
Except the original Splinter Cell for xbox (Fuck yeah exploit game)
Nor do I like other games from other "big names"

Never the less, may he rest in peace.

I don't know the guy, but this is definitely a presence I'm familiar with. I've empathy for those who intimately knew him, and interest to see whether the gaming market especially will try to capitalize off his name-as-brand.

Dinoh be hipster-ing.

Anyway, it really is a shame that he died. Didn't he do some work with the studio that made FC3?

Great suspense/action writer. And not just the Splinter Cell/Ghost Recon books. I've seen maybe 30 of his books and they are all incredible. I never read any of them though.

He actually didn't write most of the books with his name on them. In the case of Splinter Cell and the like, he created the government system like Third Echelon and someone else took over the story-telling aspect. The books he actually wrote were the Jack Ryan series (starting with The Hunt For Red October) and Red Storm Rising, and maybe a couple others. Personally, I thought Red Storm Rising was the best of them.

I guess the real present danger was death.

I liked the Splinter Cell games, so R.I.P Mr. Clancy.

    well actually
a new console won't do anything right now, because the games are still in development, that's why there are few games being released

it won't make the games finish any faster

2/3rds of launch titles for the Switch 2 will just be lazy ports of Switch games anyway.
