Hacking DSTwo battery drain in standby

I've searched google for the answer to this with mixed responses. Can anyone confirm if the SuperCard DSTwo will cause faster battery drain while a 3DS is in standby (streetpassing)? I know it has its own CPU and RAM that is used while its running which results in lower battery life, but what about while the 3DS is in standby while streetpassing?

iirc, it does drain while in sleep mode too.

Yep, confirming this as well. I just pop it out of the 3DS slightly when I'm not using it.

I found that my 3DS's battery life isn't as long with the card inside.
