Tell you what, tell me what kind of games you like, or even specific games that you enjoy, and I'll try to tailor a gamelist to you.

That's it? Just RPG and action? Okay, I'll go ahead and start off with the games of Operation Rainfall. They are:
  • Xenoblade Chronicles- One of the best RPGs to come out in recent years. Real-time combat system that people say is reminiscent of an MMO. You can choose 3 party members to be active at a given time, and you can select which character you wish to play as at any time. It has a vast open world with much to see and do. A lot of NPCs you can talk to and as you do missions for them, you will have a real impact upon them and build a vast network of NPCs and their relationships. I think the voice-acting was really well done for the English translation for this game, but if you find it lacking, they have the option of playing in Japanese voices with subtitles. If you try to rush through the game (I do not recommend) you can get through it in 60 hours; I wound up getting somewhere around 150 hours out of my first play-through, and there was still so much to do. As a side note, while most people say you should play with the classic controller, I contend that they never even tried with the Wiimote/nunchuk combo, which I find to be better for battles so that you can move your character and select your attack at the same time, while both of those actions are performed by the same thumb on the classic controller.
  • The Last Story- An RPG by Hiranobu Sakaguchi. Features an action-based battle system with cover mechanics. Battles can be pretty easy as your AI companions (which at some points you can have half a dozen companions and maybe more? I don't remember) are pretty good at what they do. There's a huge difficulty spike at the end of the game, though, so you definitely will not be able to button-mash to the finish. The overall story is decent enough, but I felt there were some cliches that grinded on me. This is a game that I believe was in the 15-20 hour range.
  • Pandora's Tower- An action-based RPG. The story is fairly simple, but there's nothing wrong with that. I'd compare it to a Zelda game if it didn't really have an overworld, but rather you went from dungeon to dungeon. The boss battles, I felt, were really interesting. It's probably similar in length to The Last Story, if I recall correctly
I'll try to come back with more suggestions later. Sorry for the delay on first part.

Second Sight for GameCube. I can't hype that game enough. Also Eternal Darkness, Beyond Good and Evil, both for GameCube. As for Wii, I recommend the above mentioned, Zack and Wiki (a bit more puzzle than action but an amazing game) Diaster Day of Crisis (that one came out in the UK) Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions (best spidey game IMHO) and Spyborgs!

Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean (Gamecube) and Baten Kaitos Origins ( sequel / Gamecube). Both games have awesome graphics, music, and story. I am having so much fun playing them! Baten Kaitos is made by Monolith Soft, the same people who made Xenoblade, Xenosaga, Chrono Cross, and Xenogears.

Note: majority of Monolith Soft is made up of ex sqaure enix members.

I need to play Baten Kaitos. I started, but turns out DIOS MIOS can't handle it's save files :(
Also, for Baten Kaitos, you need to set the audio to Surround if you don't want it to sound terrible.

Monolith and Mistwalker took all the talent Square used to have, it appears.

The first game is actually pretty cheap. I got it for$14 and was in excellent condition for used. The second was expensive both new and used. So I just bought it new for about $40 ( it goes for about 34-38 used). Worth buying in my opinion, both.

The first game looks as if it is running on a super engine of Chrono Cross. Its so colorful, and beautiful!

NOTE: Monolith Soft is working on a 3DS game currently, and released a tease art for it. The art looks very similar to Baten Kaitos, so there might be a 3rd Baten Kaitos in the works. Lemme see if I can find the a link for the art...

Unfortunately, I have no money to spend on frivolities right now since my car died last month. I'm hoping to get an income soon by writing some code for a microcontroller for a project my professor is working on, but that money will have to go towards a car. :(

Yikes, that is quite a situation. I hope all goes well. You will get to play Baten Kaitos eventually, I'm sure. It may even show up as a virtual console title someday.

Note: Also, found the link! http://operationrainfall.com/concept-art-for-monolith-softs-3ds-project/

Let's see here, what else do you need to play...
  • Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance- a Strategy RPG. Gameplay-wise, think Chess-on-crack. The individual units level-up as they do battle, they can have supports with other units so having them in proximity to each other makes them fight better, different units have unique skills, the game features permadeath, so when someone gets knocked out of a battle, they're dead and done-for. You'll find yourself sometimes needing to defend yourself and finding points to choke-off the enemy and force them into a narrow area, or other times when you're on the assault and you have to come to them where they're entrenched nicely. They'll throw curve-balls at you that'll put a wrench in your plans that you'll have to adjust for. Story-wise, I rather enjoyed the progression. Each character has their own personality which makes it hit harder when they die off.
  • Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn- Direct sequel to Path of Radiance. If you've beaten the prior game, your characters that were promoted level 20 will get a stat boost for any stat they had maxed out in the endgame of PoR.
  • Opoona- Lifestyle RPG. Let me preface by saying this game isn't for everyone. It's an odd, obscure game about a kid and his two siblings going on a vacation with his parents to another planet. As they approach, they get hit by something and they crash land and everyone is separated. Your parents are found but in critical condition so they're in a medical facility, and in order for them to get better, you have to get a bunch of Matia (a highly useful resource that's in short supply and used as currency) and work your way up through society to visit them. You start out as a Ranger-trainee (they determined that Ranger was the job you were best suited for) and you complete missions to upgrade your license to a higher level Ranger to grant you access to more facilities, and you can earn licenses to other side jobs that will grant you access to other facilities. As you progress through society, you'll see that things aren't all quite as they appear. As a side-note, everything you do in the game can be controlled with just the nunchuk, leaving your other hand free to eat a slice of pizza or whatever while playing.
  • Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon- I guess it would be classified as an Action RPG, but it draws heavily from Survival/Horror. You start off the game in an observatory after the death of the old man who took you in. You are now, as far as you know, the last person in the world. You set off on a journey to a tower that a note left by the old man told him about that may house other survivors. The gameplay isn't anything spectacular, but the atmosphere of the game is really powerful. It's all about loneliness and the need for companionship. You'll come across artifacts, that when you pick them up, you'll get a glimpse into the final thoughts of the person who had held the items, and some of the stories told through the artifacts are really powerful.
  • Skies of Arcadia: Legends- Turn-based RPG. You are an air-pirate who finds himself drawing the ire of an aggressive country after he plunders a ship that had kidnapped a girl from another country. You'll travel the skies of the world uncovering the secrets of a forgotten past and trying to stay a step ahead of your enemies as you try to keep them from obtaining ancient weapons that would allow them to threaten the world. There are many cities to visit, secrets to be found, and dungeons to be crawled. When you finally get a ship of your own, you'll be able to recruit crew members from these various cities around the world who will give you various benefits in combat. One issue I had with the game, though, was that the random encounters could sometimes be unbearable... and this is the version of the game that they lowered the random encounter rate a bit.
  • Beyond Good and Evil- Action/adventure game along the lines of Zelda. You play as Jade, a photo-journalist who runs an orphanage. The game starts with an alien invasion and the orphans are being kidnapped . After fighting off the invasion at the orphanage, the Alpha Section shows up just in time to take credit for defending against the invasion. In need of money, you accept a job investigating an Alpha Section Factory and you start to unravel a conspiracy.
  • Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem- A survival/horror action game that takes place over millenia. The story starts in the present as you are called to your grandfather's mansion by the police after his gruesome murder. He'd been decapitated with his head gone missing. Exploring the house, you discover a secret room that houses a book bound in human skin and bone: The Tome of Eternal Darkness. As you read a chapter in the book, you play out that person's story and his encounter with The Ancients, slumbering gods struggling for control of our world. Only a select few individuals peer behind the mask and see the reality of The Ancients' influence in the world, and they don't all live happily ever after. The game pioneered a 4th-wall breaking concept with sanity effects. As your character was seen by these horrible creatures, their grip on reality slips and start losing their sanity. There will be simple things like hearing footsteps, screaming people, statues will turn their heads to stare at you, walls will bleed... etc., but then there are also some more elaborate tricks they play on you, like you'll be fighting a big monster and the controller stops responding with a message telling you that your controller is unplugged and the monster proceeds to kill you while you scramble to jiggle the cable, only to find out it was just a hallucination. The sanity effects are a fun gimmick, and the story itself is very H.P. Lovecraft
  • Monster Hunter Tri- Action RPG. You take missions to hunt or capture monsters. As you kill monsters, you carve up their bodies and take back resources to be made into better armor, weapons, and items. Fighting some of these beasts is no easy task, and you need the right equipment for the job. Unfortunately, the servers for online-play have been cut off, so you'll only be able to play offline by yourself.
  • Muramasa: The Demon Blade- Side-scrolling action game with some pretty intense combat. You earn new swords by killing bosses, and you can upgrade your swords giving them different abilities. The artwork is very nicely done
  • Okami- Another Zelda-like game. You are Amaterasu, wolf-goddess. An idiot decides to remove the sword that had sealed away a demon that curses the land. You have to restore the land and defeat the demon. The game's art is done in a japanese water-paint style. To go along with this theme, you have an item called the Celestial Brush that allows you to draw things on the screen and they become real. For example, you can draw a ball with a line coming out of it, which is a bomb with a fuse. Depending on how big you draw the circle and how big you draw the line, you can change how far away the bomb is and how long it's fuse is. You can draw winds, lighting, trees, and other things to interact with the world.
Alright, those lists should last you awhile.
