Got a Gateway 3DS in my hands.

The packaging is a thick plastic. It has the Gateway logo on the front, and RoHS compliant logo on the back, and nothing more. Inside is a clear plastic tray that holds the two kits. The grey kit with the blue logo doesn't like to stay in the tray, it always comes loose. The white kit has an aquamarine PCB with a centered msd slot. The grey kit has a red PCB with a traditionally right mounted msd slot. Both kits feel high quality, for Flash Kits, and seem well made. I can't comment on anything else as I was one of the unlucky few who updated long before the Gateway 3DS was announced. The team commented via e-mail that they are working on exploit updates for 5x and 6x. I am waiting to see if they come up with anything before I look for a lower firmware 3DS.

Devin left me a msg that his kit should be arriving today as well. Turn to him for more hands-on impressions.

The package includes some SD adapter (for SD Card of 3DS) or Micro SD adapter?

works so far in what way? were you able to get it to play 3ds roms without running the blue card exploit? from what i can tell the blue card is a r4i gold (or clone). you should be able to run that exploited file from any ds-mode flash kit that can boot on the 3ds.

Right the red card works fine, I ran the GW3DS installer on my SCDSTWO and it installed just fine. Paper Mario Sticker Star is running just fine.

I just got mine. Works so far. However they didn't send me the blue card.
Wow, you wouldn't think that they would gaff like that with a review copy. While the system still works, there will be aspects of the kit that are now unreviewable without the Blue Card.

Hope that omission isn't common because a lot of people won't have a compatible DS card. Still, woohoo on the thing actually working and being real. Time to update teh stickies. : )

He ran the exploit via a Supercard DSTwo so the red one works. :P

I know he got it to work with a SC. But the concern remains with half of the kit unreviewable and others who won't be able to run their Gateway if this is a recurring issue.

At least they didn't forget the Red Card. :P (coincidental -or not? /tinfoil)

So. Can we update our console using a backup running on the Gateway 3DS?

Do it works without bricking our console?

I need to have an answer to this, really. :(

  • Games run smoothly. Can't see any graphical hindrances or slowdowns. More testing is needed.
  • So far I've tried LoZ, NSMB2, and PMSS.
  • Saves are in .sav format. I've tried to change out the save with one from a R4i Save Dongle. Says the save data is corrupt.
  • Even though it was guaranteed not to work I tried a European rom, which didn't show up in the 3DS' menu.

That is all.

Wtf man that Is NOT ALL! i still have no PICTURES! I need 5 from the front, 2 from the back, 3 of you in a thinking pose with the gateway in your lap, a gif of it running over and over, a picture of a llama playing the flashcart and most importantly Play someything big like donkey kong or resident evi, I could care less about Piss My Self-Silly Paper Mario: Sticker Star.

Why would you want pictures? He says it's working so far, there's no reason not to trust what he says and he is still gonna give us a full review.

Is the red card a 3DS emulator ?
