i'm back! second day on this forum and i'm in love lol! ok so my question today involves saving my games after i finish playing them. I played pokemon all night and saved then went to bed. I wake up, and there's no saved data. This error message "error opening directory" keeps coming up. inside my sd card i have the files sd/vbagx/roms and sd/vbagx/saves.....whats the problem?

Is your SD card full?
Is the write lock switch on your SD card in the lower position?

It could simply be an incompatibility with your SD card, I've found homebrew to be more picky with SD cards than the Wii itself. However, if you're able to load other ROMs fine even after this error message appears without restarting the Wii or ejecting and reinserting the SD card, that shouldn't be the problem.

the lock was in the upper position, is that bad?

Do you have a set directory for the save( witch is most likely) and do you save in game or as a save state
Are you playing pokemon fire red by any chance?

set directory? i doubt it. not really sure what that means. and i've tried saving it via the actual game and through the vba gx save option. and no pokemon blue lol

When
no they never save at all. what was you were mentioning about a directory?
you open your ad card up in a computer there should be a folder called vbagx, I know you know this because you are able to play the roms but is there also a save folder in there.

yes i have all that :/ so theres probably no way i'm going to be able to save huh...? what if ik downgraded to an older version of vba gx?

One last thing, go to the settings in the vba there should be stuff like "set paths or something" tell me what is says.

whoooo hoo!! nevermind i'm positive i figured it out. turns out when i unzipped the emulator there was already a folder set for roms and saves but i didn't unzip it, instead I made my own folder replica. now i have unzipped the folder that came with the emulator and replaced all my roms there, im about to giveit another go!
