Hi guys,I read on this forum that in order to prevent the 3ds from getting updated before my Flashcard DSTwo,I should disable the wireless connection from the 3ds...how can I do that? :)

You see the slider to the right side of the 3ds, flick it up and the yellow light should go away showing communications disabled

This one would be a simple case of RTFM.

Joking/remarks aside, you are fortunate for owning a DSTWO for the fact that should you update before the cart is updated, the DSTWO has an emergency update procedure, allowing it to update on consoles that it has been blocked on, perfect if you don't have an older DS to run the update the traditional way. It's best to avoid doing it the emergency way if possible because there is more room for error (you get no indication of when the update has finished or started... you just have to let it sit for "3 to 5 minutes" and hope it worked), but if the need arises, you're completely not screwed like you would otherwise be.

Sorry,I always read the manual, the problem is that I have purchased the 3ds from Japan & they didn't have shipped it yet,so I am trying to collect the more information as possible before it arrives,to be sure of what I am doing when the time comes :)

Also I read about that emergency procedure on this forum,my question is,it has to be 3-5 min or is ok if I let it go for 20 minute, just to be super safe?

Why?

What region are u in? Is this a NTSC-U or NTSC-J Or PAL region Version 3ds system? Make sure it matches your region because outside of flashcarts(appropriate roms pending for your region) you wont be able to play any legitimate 3ds games if u are buying them.

The console is NTSC-J,I've purchased with it the jap version of monster hunter 3g & fire emblem awakening, the point is that I want to play only jap stuff with it,to support the learning of that language :)

Also I'm in Italy

Oh yeah, absolutely. The longer the better, to be honest, but at some point it does get to be quite overkill.

I haven't done any testing on this, so don't take my word for it, but I would imagine that even something like one minute would be sufficient. If you think about it, the DSTWO, when flashing the normal way, only takes roughly ten seconds to flash once you confirm that you want to, then it loads you to the EOS interface when it completes, and deletes the file.

I would imagine that the "3 to 5 minutes" timeframe is to minimize the possibility of a brick from restarting it too early (mid flash) as much as possible. I've done it in the 3-5 minute frame a few times before on my 3DS (having a perfectly functioning DS Lite, to boot), and I've never had a problem, except for the last time (where I gave it 3 minutes instead of 5+), where it just didn't flash at all; I probably named the file incorrectly.

Edit - as always, someone please correct me if I am wrong, and I'll make the appropriate changes/redactions

Also - with the Supercard DSTwo, you can run Japanese, European, and American games. The DSTwo is not region locked, but 3DS games and some regular DS games are. I am able to play my DSTwo on both my Japanese and American 3DS systems. I hope this clears up any confusion you may have later.

Not entirely true.

3DS games are region locked.
DSi games are region locked.
DS games are not region locked.

iQue games, however, are region locked, but they're technically not DS games, and some flashcarts can circumvent the region locking on those games.

The DSTWO, being a DS game, is by nature not region locked.
