I heard of the super famicom when I was a kid , and I remember being mad that they would get a lot of rpgs that would never be released here. When I was 12 I wanted to open a store that would specialize in those games and they would all be translated into English.

I would venture to say that it is a little hollow considering you are comparing apples to oranges ( broadcast games vs. physical media games )
It's a real-world example. If people don't dump things when they can (even if they cannot be played at that time), then they will eventually risk being lost.

So then you know for a fact that these dumps are good ? If not , you are blowing smoke while there is no fire .
Now allow me to give you a real-world example <<<< that's from 1939. So there is hope that you can find these broadcast games , should someone choose to release them i.e. they exist.
But you comparing a dump of physical vs. over the air is just asinine. Nothing is ever lost when it comes to monetization and that's a fact.

Lol, you two are amusing. One thing I've learned is there is almost ALWAYS a copy of anything in electronic format. The challenge is finding somebody who KNOWS what they have or who will SHARE what they have;-) I saw a headline of some NES game that went for like, damn, like $15,000? I need to look this up. It turned out somebody found it in the box and went to a game shop to sell it. The shop runner could have ripped that person off. It was a game that was in a TEST MARKET release for NES (like beta testing back then) in I want to say Northwestern United States. I don't even thing there is a ROM of that on the internet (did not search). Most were believed to have been destroyed and some did turn up from time to time.

IMAGINE an NES game being so valuable!!! Those types of finds entertain me. If anyone knows Psychology then Carl Rogers (Humanistic Psychology) had an old cassette tape series. I had read everything he wrote and never did convert those to digital format (they have devices for this). I may have thrown them away. I believe those are rare. At the time (if I did toss them out), I had no idea. I thought this was amusing stuff here. Point is, sometimes people have these rare items and we are expecting it all to be ON the internet already. Somewhere, somebody has some box with copies, or some other way to preserve them and they may not even know some might enjoy having them:-) My life goes on if those old games are not found. Anything in my lifetime from Atari to current gen systems is easy to get (RIGHT NOW).

LOL, so about focus, did anyone ask about the Wii U game dumps? There was a thread where some called it fake, OUTRIGHT fake, was it the Sonic one? I don't know "Venom" and while it seems Crediar confirmed the aes key to reveal .iso contents that seems to be about all we know for sure. There are more sites than this one, and I don't feel like looking it up BUT xbox360iso.com has a thread on the Ukey with a lot of information. I believe the topic was "dumps" and then I added what I was told I could say then Rydian, Air, a little flaming for me (think I care from my avatar about having two dies, good/bad, and how others perceive me?)...great chat (funny), and so I thought maybe refocus and see what others found out. Even if sources don't want to be named, what are you allowed to say?

I think you're forgetting what you said that I was contesting in the first place...
No point in dumping if it can't be played

... yet most BS-X games cannot be played anymore, they're lost.

Phew...when I read the title, I kind of feared it'd be about more developers dumping the wiiu.

So there's dumping of roms. Okay...same question as for the 3DS: how the fuck do we know it's actually a dump if there's no way to verify it either on a PC or a wiiu? If I put part of my porn collection in a password protected zip file until it has a nice size (say...15.26 Gigabyte), rename it to "Smash_Bros_U_nfo_myth_fix_ROMZ.rar" and upload it somewhere...does that mean I can use pirates as a means of storing my porn for me in case I want it?

Come to think of it...why the hell am I NOT doing this? At least they'll be doing something productive, then. :P

THAT IS THE COOLEST THING I HAVE EVER READ!!!!

Thanks. But as pointed out, it would piss off release groups that I would hijack their name (which I actually knew), and the dumps actually do work - albeit not publicly. As such, the joke wouldn't last that long. :)

I thought you were kidding , and I still do , because if you weren't , your statement was asinine.
Lost like ancient ruins of Babylon ? or lost the ancient sea scrolls ?

I think the real question is what are you doing with 15.28 GB of porn? U can stream for free now adays :D

Wow air2004, you are one ignorant fella.
Besides who would want any of those games considering that its only in Japanese?
Are you from USA? This is typical USA bullshit babbling.

And you also don´t understand how the scene works since the last 25 years:
No point in dumping if it can't be played
LMAO (how fitting that jalaneme liked that post )

But the PS3 isos didn`t work! You couldn`t use them. They were not really bad dumps, but had to be converted. So all games were released again....

I wish PS3 scene would release untouched ISOs again. It's easy to decrypt/encrypt them nowadays. I backup my PS3 discs in ISO form.

Oh god I laughed so bad. You're using the worst comparisons ever.

How to be ignorant. I wouldn't even lend my games to you.

Also the worst thing to say. And usually, scene groups who dumps these, can actually play those already.
But even if it's not playable, there's still ways to tell if it's a good dump. Ways I won't even explain.

And anyway, you don't know what you're saying.

On the note of monetization... Bbc could make some real cash releasing these if possible but it's not. Like rydian mentioned, sometimes if things are not preserved then they disappear .

Yes, but you NEVER know. There are some real geeks throughout history and people once captured cable, had free cable with cable boxes, cassette tapes were built into radios, LMFAO, promoting piracy. Well, WHAT they consider piracy today. Whatever area this was in PRIMARILY could be searched. Usually people don't know what they have or that it is useful to somebody. I would laugh if the company who put it out, SINCE it is all old and not sold, had copies;-) If they exist anymore. There are always angles to look at. I've found two half sisters, a half brother, and my biological dad after over 20 years. Changed names and all;-) It depends on how much you want to find something and how creative/imaginative you are. ONE piece of information such as "What was this the most popular?" Could lead to an area, then you'd be surprised.

NOTE: sometimes whatever you want is simply GONE. Then you need to acknowledge you did all you could do. LOL, until you later realize you missed an angle. Not that this matters but maybe a thread in EOF or something about games in a general spot would be awesome. Put RARE stuff like what Rydian and others were talking about and people can post their "hard finds" and it could be an interesting thread.

We need a new thread for old games/software/systems people want to track down and discuss. Anyone check on Wii U dumps?
