PREFACE - The Introduction to your Embellishing Future
[Preface is planned to have 7-15 paragraphs. These paragraphs are currently under construction. Some of these material may or may not be in the final tutorial. I am currently fiddling with layout. Not all of my work are found here. I am pasting it from my draft from MS Word to test the format.]
There was a time when you could get the classic IBM Portable PC (1975) for $19,975 USD, which scores you a 64KB RAM. Yes, you read that right. ONLY 64 Kilobytes of Read Access Memory. Go ahead, grab your smartphone. If you don't have one, just check your local, favorite carrier store. Even the cheapest budget smartphone probably have at least 256MB of memory, let alone that whooping 2GB memory in that Galaxy Note II.
______NOTICE notice NOTICE notice NOTICE notice
If you have no idea what RAM means, don't worry. This tutorial does not require you to understand what RAM means, unless you are planning to tackle the advance section of the tutorial (which will be written at a later time). In a nutshell, if you are interested, RAM (Read Access Memory) in the very simplest definition, can be thought as where temporarily data is stored. The more RAM you have, the more likely the device is able to multi-task. If you are interested in learning more, hit the link for more info:
__________________________________________

We have dual cores, affable chunk of RAM, and flexible operating system. Does not that sound familiar? You might realize: "Yeah, you're right! Doesn't this sound like my computer in my bedroom?" If you have a gaming rig, or you don't have a PC at all, please just pretend do understand for the sake of this tutorial. (And if you don't have a bedroom... well... :wtf:) With these relatively small minicomputers, shouldn't we get more ....

I am ready and will be back when this is done.

Also, im Spiderman, i do what i want. :bortz:
You, dear Spiderman, are an exception. Just please do tell Venom not to come here. Thanks.

In all seriousness, I just wanted to let everyone know that I will be expanding this guide for a long time. Not just for the contest. Since the definition of a "Nerd" is ever expanding, I plan to do so with this guide, hopefully. There's just so much things to do with Android, that writing a single guide covering it all is insane. I do hope many will find this guide helpful as a kick starter. I plan to cover installing other operating systems and dual boots like Firefox OS, and of the same nature.

What phone do you have? Since every phone is slightly different, I am using three phones as a model. I can use your phone as one of the example.

If you could use the T-Mobile HTC Sensation as a guide that would be great , my brothers phone is completely fucked , and the only thing I was able to do was unlock the boot loader . I can get to the recovery screen by holding down vol and hitting the poser button , but every PG58IMG file I have tried only 2 say updating , but it just hangs there ( I let it go for hours , I can post a pic of the screen if that helps and give you the imei number )

Thank you for the positive replies! It really make my day! :D

I am still writing the tutorial, but the progress is a little slower than what I want it to be. I know I said I will finish in two days, but I think I have to push it back the date for the 25th of June. I have some volunteer duties I have to do, so please wait patiently, tempers!

In any cases, I have chosen these three phones as the model phones:
1. Nexus 4
2. Galaxy S3
3. HTC Sensation (As you wish, air2004!)

And one Tablet:
1. Transformer Prime

If your phone is not on the list, don't fret. Just post your phone here and I will personally help you when I'm finish with the guide.

I really like the guide so far, will come in handy for sure! Although, no Galaxy S4 in here. :gun:
As I said, don't fret. I will somehow make the guide cover most phones. And I will be adding more model phones in the long run.

YU-GI-OH!!!!
I did not watch the video, so I have no idea what you are implying.

I liked the OP because I like the layout; but I am prepared to unlike if you don't deliver with the content. :glare: Just kidding, of course. I have a cheapo Craig tablet that I picked up at CVS for under $100 (CMP741e) and have not seen any "useful" guides on how to root it. I don't expect you to tell me how to, but I'd be equally content to hear that it's just frankly impossible. Also, Galaxy Note II.

Hehe! Of course, I will deliver the contents in a timely matter. I am writing as we speak. I will finish the entire (or at least 85% of the) guide by this 25th of June. I will make modifications to polish after that and will continue writing other subjects and advanced topics after that too. Perhaps how to compile your own ROM. I making a lot of modification to the layout, too. It will be much nicer in a couple of days. I won't update the guide with any text until I hit the 85% mark. I'm just playing with the layout. A lot will change!

I haven't read through it, but a quick google search told me this: http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...-cmp741e-rooting-recovering-backups-roms.html. As always, make sure the guide is legit, and your device qualifies for the guide! Tell me if you need any help, or just wait until I finish with my tutorial.

Also, Galaxy Note II.

Oooh, nice. Thanks. The tut is dated 04/01/2013 so I guess it's been a while since I googled it myself. Bookmarked and added to my to-do list.
Meh, haters gonna hate. :D

Agh! The agony! How long have I been inactive? One month or is it three weeks? In any case, I apologize to my fellow tempers for the delay! I have kept you guy waiting long enough. I sincerely apologize; I did not expect this to happen. A whole lot of things happened in RL in such little time. Some urgent business that I cannot say.

Now to the status of the tutorial. I will push back the ETA for two weeks, since I'm still busy with programming with Another Certain Delayed Project (and I have another RPG game I will release soon too... more detail on that later.) If you NEED HELP RIGHT NOW. Post here, and I will personally help you to Root/Flash/Unbrick/Whatever asap, even before the tutorial is finish.

I apologize for those have been anticipating for this tutorial. I, myself, am quite anxious to get it done. But a whole lot, and I mean a WHOLE LOT of events suddenly flung on me.

Is this thread going to get updated ?
One other thing , I can only use fastboot , adb is not working.
From what I remember, you are trying to fix a HTC Sensation; is that right? Do you have a Nandroid (backup)? If not, give me as much detail as possible. Why cause it to go haywire (bad flash, no reason, etc)?
