Also, we don't know how big the gateway team is. If it's some guy working out of his mother's basement, he might be reluctant to upgrade his only 3DS to 6.0.0.x, and he might not have the spare cash to grab another. Just saying. ;-)

Dear GOD I hope that isn't the case.

So, like others in this thread it would be nice to know about the whole if its blocked thing. I'm really tempted to get Super Acorns while its on sale, but of course I need to update to get to the eshop...

Dear GOD I hope that isn't the case.

for we know it could be crown 3ds team , cyclops , acekard, supercard or ninty themselves ,what with wii u sales in the shitter and all
what better way to keep up appearances than to release a fw update to block the card before its even released, it makes them look so smart and like they are doing someothing to protect their 3rd party dev licencees , the only ones who would be the only real losers in such a scenario ,although when you consider that 3ds flashcard usrs will never mount to more than like 0.2 % of all 3ds users its not exactly a loss at all

I receive a confirmation from the team (no good at all)
So right now, the Gateway3DS is not compatible with the firmware 6.X.X.1 or up.

The answer that everybody is waiting, now you know... do not update the 3DS until they tell you ?

Currently it is not compatible with firmware v6.x but we are working on making
it compatible as quickly as possible.
Meanwhile, do NOT update your console until we say it is ok to do so.

So.... will they keep releasing it with v5.x support or waiting until v6.x is supported??

This is the email I received.

It is coming out of course.

I don't exactly what they plan, but surely, it is not a good news.
If they keep releasing now, it would support only game under V6.X, if they wait to update the Gateway3DS to support 6.X
it would be compatible with the 6.X game, but for how long ?
Not the best solution and pretty limited

So this is the first confirmation that the card was indeed blocked. Would you mind posting the email for the doubters that Nintendo could patch an unreleased card? I believe you of course, but others are more stubborn. :P

The way they are handling this is their best strategy I think: admit that it's not working on v6, then release the card amidst hope that they can fix it via a firmware patch later.

If this is released they will make alot of cash, i hope they fail.

What happened to Full Review of Gateway 3DS.. when is it coming? :)
It'll be here once the reviewer, Devin, gets it. We think he'll get it in 1-2 weeks, but there's no concrete date. And once he gets it, he'll release the review in due time. Note: reviews take a while to write, and so will testing. So, TL;DR: it'll get here when it gets here.

I hope there will be a small preview first before the review.

Even if he pops in just to say "Omgwtf it works!!!" he may spend more time and find out "Oh wait.. nvm." I'd rather he not say anything until he fully tests it so no one ends up spending money on it prematurely.
