I've been trying to update my Wii U. and i keep getting an error code. I can't play my Wii U games or watch Netflix or youtube or even enter the eShop without the update. Can anyone help me on this?

I already called Nintendo yesterday. I called them twice. They first told me to reformat me Wii U, so i did. and reset everything. I tried the update again and I got the same error code. Is there anyway to hack the Wii U system to override this error code? Also thank you for replying quickly.

I've also had this error. Nintendo support told me the same, so I reformatted and no luck. I'm just going to send mine in for repairs, since it's still covered by the warranty. (Well... Except softmods kinda void that... But what they don't know won't hurt them. :yay:)

I sent my Wii U for Nintendo to repair. Since the console is still under warranty. I don't have to pay for it. I hope Nintendo has a download to fix this.

I just got my Wii U back from Nintendo. The console was never even modded!!! and they said the console was altered/tampered with. and they sent it back unrepaired!!! This is f*cking bullsh*t!!! I never got the chance to mod my system because I was to busy playing the games I bought for it!!!!. All I did was transfer my Virtual Console & Wiiware games that I legally bought from Nintendo through the Wii Shop channel.. This is the letter I got back from Nintendo.

Hello,

Thank you for sending your Nintendo system for repair.

Upon examination of your system, our technicians determined that the system has been tampered with. The tampering our technicians discovered was:

Product has been altered by downloading of unauthorized software, such has the "homebrew" channel.

A system that has been altered is permanently damaged and cannot be brought back to it's original working condition. Your only option would be to purchase a new one. We are returning your system to you unrepaired. Please find it enclosed.

I'm freaking Pi*s off right now. I'm going to give Nintendo a phone call tomorrow and tell them that this console hasn't even been altered in anyway shape or form. And they better send me a new console since this one was bought with a MAJOR FLAW!!!

Is it possible that some of your transferred saves were out-of-region?

if all else fails you may have to wait for a mod to where you can sideload all the updates like what everybody had to do to use the up to date Wii Shop channel on a modded console (without uninstalling HBC and waiting for a new hack)

Okay. If it's not a false positive, and you're being 100% truthful, the only explanation would be that if you perform a Wii U System Transfer from a hacked Wii, (possibly without your knowledge, especially if used) the record of all titles installed on that Wii (uid.sys) could possibly be transferred, even if the HBC itself is left behind or uninstalled prior to transfer, thus rendering any Wii U with System Transfers from any previously hacked Wii illegitimate. If System Transfers are indeed hack-contagious, Nintendo should not allow them in the first place.
I feel that since my Wii U is free of unauthorized software, it is not hacked. Nintendo may beg to differ. If this is the case, I'd like to see Nintendo's punitive actions punished, in turn, by a class-action lawsuit.
You should request a detailed, annotated log of their system scan, or have a consumer advocate request it.
