I'm undecided. I thought I'd outgrown video game piracy, but being a student doesn't leave much cash laying around.

I might just wait for a clone or something.

"$80 Gateway card worth it?"

Gateway=$80
106 us ROMS=~$3180

It's up to you.

My biggest concern is alternative cheaper solutions that will inevitably come out in the future, but if the GBATemp review is good at the end of this month I'll pick it up anyways just for fun.

Why the fuck would anybody pay that much for a flashcard unless only half of your brain works.
Because it's the only thing available? You've been spoiled by softmods and cheap R4s, I guess. Flash carts, even on the DS, started at high prices too, and for older systems (SNES, N64, etc.) even the newest models are $80 or higher.

If $80 plus the MiroSD is less than it costs to buy the games you will be playing the ROMs of, then it's an economically feasible decision.

If it doesn't get blocked immediately. Big if.

Yep, and I know why I have to wait too for a softmod lol. It may take a long while, but itll be worth it. Would like to be able to code on that thing for ARM practice when I get into College.

Paying $80.00 to be (very likely) frozen with the current 3DS library seems insane, especially with a new pokemanz game coming out this year.

It might be amusing to have it for awhile, but eventually you're going to want to update to play newer games, which would make the gateway pretty much $80 down the toilet. Unless you buy a second 3DS, but that would defeat the purpose really.

I feel like this price is classic market skimming though. I feel that even though a LOT of it is still in development, people are still gonna chuck cash at them because it's an opportunity to run 3DS roms.

Someone would have to hold a gun to my head before I play all that shovelware

The Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time 3D
Super Street Fighter IV - 3D Edition
Cave Story 3D
Mario Kart 7
Super Mario 3D Land
Sonic Generations
Starfox 64 3D
Bit Trip Saga
Dead or Alive - Dimensions
Resident Evil - Revelations
Metal Gear Solid 3D - Snake Eater
Resident Evil The Mercenaries 3D
Kid Icarus - Uprising
Shin Megami Tensei - Devil Survivor Overclocked

I dunno man. I think I'd pay $80 for all of these games. And these are just games I'd be interested in at the start, other games people might like might have been dumped as well.

Suddenly 4 alerts, now that's enthusiasm. LOL...but seriously, I'm in a different position, I haven't paid a dime for any of my games yet and the way things are going, I pretty much wont ever have to...
I don't suppose Gateway 3DS takes Amazon gift cards (not that I'd waste that amount even through that method)

I love seeing $0.00 on my grand totals btw ^_^
