It looks like they consider linux the perfect sdk for the platform.
It has enough ram to run linux and as an os, it has all the libs you need to be a perfect sdk.
Why should we reinvent the wheel? We just need to find a way to mount them under our wagon.
Once out wagon has wheels, things can go fast.
A lot of emulators already exist for linux. They will need tweaking and a recompilation for PPC.
After all, isn't linux a homebrew OS?

Pretty much hit the nail on the head. We now have an SDK from which we can build.

I do see one interesting use for a wiiu exploit.
It could be used to fix the vwii nand contents in case it's contents become corrupt.
The current approach that is followed resembles much plan A from team f0f I assume, but if vwii isn't booting anymore,
the only way I can see to recover it is by physical removing the nand chip and externally programming it.
The wiiu emmc resembles an sd card and probably can be reflashed while remaining in circuit. Connecting 8 wires is easier than connecting 24+

Guys, can we not clutter up this thread any more? It should be a technical only discussion here. I know this is funny coming from me, but Comex and others have asked to keep this on topic and I would appreciate if we can do that.....

My post was technically describing why we could benefit from a wiiu exploit, even when we can get 3 cores running in wii mode.
I had hoped that others might know another way not needing a wiiu exploit for it. We all know that vwii nand contents can become corrupt, even on an unmodded wii. Having a power fail during the install of a channel can already do the trick. So I see a very usefull functionallity for a wiiu exploit not being related to piracy.

I don't know how long ago he added this, but Marcan has posted a small update to his post. It seems as if he is trying to find or spark interest for the Wii U Homebrew community. I'm glad to see he is still interested in it.

Update

To clarify, this only yields access to the extra cores, not the extra RAM and the rest of the hardware. For that, you’ll need a Wii U mode exploit. We do have such an exploit, but right now I believe that, if it were released, there wouldn’t be enough developer interest to kickstart a healthy homebrew ecosystem; if e.g. a Linux port to vWii-mode Espresso is developed, I will gladly stand corrected (and such a Linux port would be directly applicable to Wii U mode, modulo a few minor memory mapping differences, so it’s not wasted effort).

this was on other forums out there and looked interesting. that was in the blog already though no?

but if we just develop homebrew with the Wii-u's official SDK and use an exploit that lets it run, unsigned, wouldn't that be easier, and give us the best driver support? I realize this is illegal, but for those that don't care about such things, it would give more control of hardware, and lead to quality homebrew. It will be a long time coming to get a linux with drivers that gets 100% out of the hardware. In the meantime we could use Ninty's SDK to develop emulators etc, all we need is the exploit.

In the 360 scene, most homebrew is built on the MS XDK. The open libxenon took a long time to be usable, and still doesn't get all that much out of hardware, so homebrew based on libxenon is few and far between.

Ask thread starter but tell them to not add you somewhere. read blog and threads like you and asked one question then mean and kicked. 360 idea won't work here unless people hack it. Other sites shared info and friendly. My son wants Wii u and I like hacks. Some scenes are more friendly. How do you say...clicky. delete I not care and wanted updates.
Deleted from place kicked out of. Said fine delete not helping and not crowd to be friends with.

Iquote="Ninja_Carver, post: 4653123, member: 320194"]wow dude what a lame attempt. can't you just give it a rest? we asked nicely, now you're just making an ass out of your self. please don't make me lose what respect i had left for you. thanks.[/quote]
i don't know you
