I don't think so, because he doesn't install anything in Wii/vWii, just run from SD, and there's SD files but you can delete everything.
But post over the internet, THAT can be a traceable record of hacking :P
but i can be wrong.

If you ran Snes9xGX directly from Smash Stack, then there will be no files left on your vWii. Only the Smash Stack and Snes9xGX files on your SD card will be evidence of the hack.

What goes on Wii for HBC? What is modded? Can you remove what was added and restore what was modded? This has been debated by people much more experienced. Also people have said they sent in for repair anyway. Your choice dude, lol.

You don't understand he meant, its not about HBC, its running snes9x directly with smash stack, without HBC or something like
this type of thing will not change your wii/vwii in any way.
(Or i can be wrong :P )

Even if HBC is installed, can it not be uninstalled? I understand it is written to NAND, but surely the HackMii team could develop an uninstaller that gets rid of all traces of itself?! As far as I understand it the current uninstalltion method is to simply delete the channel. This of course does not return the Wii to a virgin state, there are still plenty of traces on the Wii.

Also why does running HBC record itself into your Wii history? They could easily replace it's recorded name as something retail.

From the Hackmii Faq:
  • Can I easily uninstall the channel?
  • Ofcourse, either use the uninstall feature of the installer, or just remove it as any other ordinary savegame or channel through "data management" in the Wii settings menu.
  • Will this remove all traces of the channel?
  • No, since there are many logs and other tidbits that remain, created by the Wii software. However, none of these should cause any issues. We will address the problems if and when they come.
It seems as if the HackMii team is not interested in covering HackMii tracks UNTIL we are burned by Ninty. Warranty voids aside, they will act only when/if people are banned or bricked by Ninty due to detection of a Hackmii installation and not before.

This is an irrelevance.
The original post makes it clear that he never installed the Homebrew Channel or anything else, and simply ran Snes9xGX directly from Smash Stack.

My post wasn't in response to the OP. Hence my first two words are "Even if..."
Ray Lewis brought up HBC, and I thought it an interesting point. As with all conversations, other points can be made and those can be considered.

So you can run smash stack and make vWii run an emulator? Nothing modded? Is this what is happening?
Yes, this aways was possible, and don't mod your vWii system in any way
he just replace hackmii installer for snes9x and run them with smashstack exploit.
you can also try other homebrews, not all will work, but i think most of them, but depending of homebrew he can leave some traces of it
i suggest running retroarch, its various emulators in 1
