I'm Canadian, we don't use Gallons so I have no idea what that equals out to.
Also, Origin isn't really shit. As Guild pointed out, EA wants in on the PC gaming pie. And from a business perspective, it makes perfect sense. EA now gets all the profits, they don't have to share it with Steam. If people want their games on PC, they'll buy them through Origin, and not anywhere else. And in turn, that makes competition against Valve and whatever other company, which in turn makes it better for us, the consumer because everybody will be trying to 1up and make the best possible experience.
Also, Sim City 5, again, not a bad game, really fun. The DRM and always online is dumb. The game is not.
