Is it more or does vWii with HDMI look pixelated? Just fired up some games via wiiflow and they look horrible compared to wii with component connection.

Well you are rendering a 480p signal via HDMI, something the Wii wasn't meant to do. It's "scaling" it to a 1080p signal without actually making it 1080p, so it looks worse. Try setting the console to 720p in the Wii U menu.

Wait wait wait... vWii on Wii U can be installed Wiiflow or USB Loader GX? I thought those required cIOS.

They do require cIOS, there are apps that install cIOS on vWii. IOS236 Special MOD & d2x vWii.
