Seriously,
There's a Goodwill store 5 minutes from my house an they always have decent things there.
Just came back from going there and scored some pretty good stuff.
I got New Super Mario Bros. U for 29.99, not the best deal but half off was good enough to justify purchasing it.
Viva Piñata for the PC for 2.99, Picked this one up for shits n giggles but apparently its an ok game.
Spore for 2.99, I've always wanted to play it but heard it didn't live up to its hype. For 2.99 I can't complain
Last but not least, Assassins Creed 3 on the PC for 6.99, I was shocked to even see it there. At that price it was a no-brainer.

All of these games are in mint condition, no scratches whatsoever. The club nintendo code was unused and the assassins creed key hadn't been used yet on Uplay.

The only thing that was weird when I bought the games was that the cases were covered in tape.

This was a great haul for me, especially since I'm just starting my collection. :)

The Goodwill near me never has any good stuff :( I'm so envious of the people who find retro consoles there and get them for really cheap.

I am too, but sometimes the overprice retro consoles way too much. I saw a NES once for 110 bucks.

I enjoy searching through GoodWill. I remember seeing a hurricane simulator there once. I wanted to buy it but my mother said it'd be broken.

Some of the best things I have/had came from a GoodWill. Mostly clothes like my favourite pair of cargo shorts.

I am lucky I have like 2 Goodwill stores and some other thrift stores near me and they usually have some video game related stuff. Still kicking myself for not snapping up the JVC Xeye system when I had the chance, I think they wanted like 30 bucks for it.

Even better than the prices is the hunt for me, I could buy all the stuff on ebay but as a kid I always liked Grab Bags and to me thrift stores are like a giant version... You just don't know whats inside until you go :)

Going to make the rounds today, might report back here if I see anything interesting.

Edit: Wow probably the worst pickings I have seen in a long time, the total list of things I found was pretty much every Football and Hockey game ever made for the PS2 (I didn't know Sega made sports games for the PS2...) a scratched to hell Gran Turismo 3 A Spec. 2 PS1 Controllers 1 was dual shock the other was an original. I almost picked those up... Then I realized I have like 20 of them already. lol

On the subject of scratched disks.... What the hell do people do with the games? That copy of GT A Spec was so scratched up it looked like some one used it as a golf tee for like 900 holes... (Was extra frustrating to me since I have B Spec and A Spec would have been nice to add)

There are 7 GWs within ten miles of us, and we make the rotation weekly. Insane bargains? Gaming rarities? Ohhhhh, yes, and in the thousands over the years....

Recently, grabbed these for less than $3 each:

Tyson's Punch-Out NES
Zelda promo disc GC
MegaMan X-something-or-other SNES
NES cleaning kit, unopened
DuckTales II NES (Sold this beauty for a fast $50)
GBA, PS2, XB, and GC games by the ton
etc...etc...etc...

So much great stuff over there years....hitting a few this AM, in fact, on the way out of town. CHEERS to benefitting from a greedy, wasteful society ~ !

I got a stack of Japanese PC-Engine CDs at a Goodwill near Toronto's Little India, paid $3 each, sold them on for an average of $20 each, that was a good score. I also picked up 6 perfect N64 controllers at a local Value Village for $2.50 each, added to my hoard...

I got 5 mint condition GameCube games today at the Salvation Army!!!! Spent a grand total of like 9.90 something cents. $1.99 each!!!!

All of them in the cases with instructions.

Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron III
Star Wars Rebel Strike II: Rogue Squadron II
Star Wars Rebel Strike II: Rogue Squadron II Limited Edition Preview Disk
Namco Museum (Ms Pacman, Dig Dug, Galaxian those kinds of games.)
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles

So happy :)

Edit: So odd, I was just looking over the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles game and the package has English and French on it so I opened up the manual and the order form for the guide (These games are all 100% complete) and it too is all in English and French. I think the game came from Canada because it's an NTSC game?

Where I live, we have 7 surrounding area Goodwills. Each of them ALWAYS has cheap video games. Got Starfox assault for $2, wave bird controller for 1.50, and Majoras mask for 50 cents.
