Good Photoshop tutorials

I've asked this question before and I'll ask it again (after reviewing the links from my last thread I believe that I didn't specify properly what I wanted). I want the bare basics of tutorials, not the tutorials I was given, which contained a lot of jargon. The GIMP tutorial that came packaged with GIMP clearly explained what I needed to do, why doesn't Photoshop come with a tutorial?

It probably does if you buy it. Try searching where you downloaded it for a .pdf guide/manual/bible.

Youtube or Google are ideal for this. Just search something like 'absolute beginner photoshop tutorial', or 'learn photoshop in 15 minutes' or whatever.
The internet is so full of tutorials, just find them.

As I said on the thread (though photoshop being something of an industry standard it is bit different) it might be a better idea to look up the basics of image manipulation and go from there- knowing how and why you might want to use layer masking is far more useful than knowing how to do the very basics of layer masking in photoshop (or GIMP or anything for that matter).
