Is it just me who found Revelations to be serviceable? When I finished it, I immediately sold it and I can't say I've missed it.

Compared to the shitfest that was RE6, this is a revelation. /Obvious pun

With that said, I think I'm just done with the series. Resident Evil is little more than a soulless, lifeless husk - the zombie franchise became a franchise zombie.

SWEET maybe this will lead to more REAL Resident Evil games on consoles not those FPS they put out the last 2 times.

Inquiring minds and all that- are you calling RE5 an FPS or are we including Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City instead

Id say they just have more of a FPS feel to them not that they actually are FPS games i mean 6 is PRETTY damn close.

It's a combination of both the Peacewalker effect and the fact that we haven't gotten a good RE game since 4.

Peacewalker may be smaller in scale and have a smaller budget than MGS3 but it's still pretty damn impressive for a handheld, the same goes for Revelaitons. They're both still stellar handheld experiences. but not exactly worth a $50 console purchase.

Except for it not being in the First Person. So, you know, there's that.
Ya but you run around with basically infinite ammo shooting anything in site with no care? no suspense or anything. Have you played the original games? or are you trying to troll?

A) The term you're looking for is "TPS", or a Third Person Shooter. It's a shooter in the third person perspective, as opposed to an FPS, which is a shooter in the first person perspective. To say that Resident Evil has transitioned from survival horror game to a TPS (or, more generally, an action game) is an accurate statement; to say it has become an FPS isn't.
B) Not every FPS is CoD (and, shit, even CoD isn't like that). It just doesn't seem like you understand the genre at all.
C) Saying games not in the first person are not first person shooters is trolling now?

Effectively infinite ammo on RE5? For the modes/difficulties I was playing on most of RE5 saw the need for some of the tightest ammo discipline, both long term and instances when I was trading shots, I have ever seen in a more action heavy game. I agree the first 6 games (0 through 3, nemesis and code veronica) almost had weapons use as much a puzzle element as the puzzles themselves and would agree with Gahars that it changed style of gameplay to be more action heavy but among action heavy games I stand by the previous sentence.

no psvita version o well :3

I never meant it actually turned into a FPS, I just meant it's more arcade like. You know what's funny tho I bet you knew EXACTLY what I meant by my comment and took the opportunity to flex your "all knowing" muscles.

I'm sorry, I didn't because what you said was absolute nonsense.

If you want people to know what you mean, then say what you mean. Problem solved.

Extra Raid Mode content? Hell yeah, totally going to double-dip on PC (or Wii U if I get that anytime soon) when it drops in price because this shouldn't be priced $50..

It really is a testament to Capcom's mastery of the 3DS that the game still looks this good with only a higher resolution and minor improvements
Extras could have been $10 dlc , so be glad it isn't $60.

I think it's mostly fair.

Interesting... I might pick it up for the WiiU, depends how I feel towards it.

To be honest, I hated RE6, I'm playing RE5 Gold on PS3 currently actually, but I might just pick this up for the 3DS.

Nah i believe your just a DOUCHEBAG, I think its pretty obvious how the Resident Evil games have changed over the years thats EXACTLY what i was saying. YOU had to go deeper because you heard the word FPS and felt like ranting about the differences of a FPS and TPS

well technically there were 3 FPS re games
survivor (PS1)
survivor 2 (PS2)
dead aim (PS2)

all were guncon games though except for the first survivor in the US version which wasnt compatible with guncon and was just a fps game

A) Aw, we don't need to resort to name-calling, do we?
B) Also, capitalizing words just looks kind of silly. Same with the spelling and grammatical errors.
C) As I already mentioned, if that's exactly what you meant, then that's exactly what you should've said. People can't respond to your thought process - as far as I know, there aren't any psychics on GBAtemp.
D) 3 sentences is a rant now? Plus, shouldn't a rant be more charged and vitriolic - there's not even an exclamation point to be found from my post.

Really, I don't know why you're getting so upset about this. Seems like a major overreaction for something so minor.

Speak for yourself bud, i own all the Resident Evil games i constantly replay them. Especially every Halloween ill whip one out. Ive beat RE2 over 10 times when your a fan your a fan.
Oh, I'm a fan myself - I just don't see much replayability in the titles. Whatever you do, you end up with the same ending anyways, so it's all for nostalgia's sake.

Surprised that people thought $50 is too much when the 3DS used to be priced at ten dollars less. But I will have to concede that yes, right now, Capcom is currently top dog when it comes to 3DS graphics. I just hope they plan on using and abusing that capability. And I sure wish to god that all the other devs pick up on it. If only Kojima could make a game engine as snazzy as Capcom's MT Framework mobile, Snake Eater 3D would have been so much better.

no psvita version o well :3
*chuckles*
