So far you've made two claims against them and provided zero evidence. Why is it bad? Why is it just like IGN? Eurogamer's writers are articulate and write well....just because a site doesn't have the word Nintendo in it's url in some form doesn't make it bad.

Sorry, I meant Kotaku, not Eurogamer. IGN is full of noobs.

Kotaku is a horrible news website that masquerades as a "blog" so it can insert shit opinions and bias into their news. Not to mention the horrific amount of fluff or just plain misleading titles to attract hits is quite embarrassing.
Not sure if you're describing Kotaku or the USN here...

They say they're a blog so I treat them as such, an invalid source of news.
Even were they a legitimate news source they'd represent the worst aspects of it.

Sometimes amusing to see how clueless or off-base they are though.

Earlier Kotaku wrote an article saying Hideki Kamiya of Platinum Games is delirious about PC gaming and Valve. Article here:

http://kotaku.com/5974039/the-guy-who-made-bayonetta-is-clueless-about-valve-and-pc-gaming

Hideki responded amazingly:

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=507443

Then as you can see, Kotaku added this little bit of note at the end of the original article:

The original headline for this story—"The Guy Who Made Bayonetta Is Clueless about Valve and PC Gaming"—has been changed. "Clueless" was a poor choice of words and we apologize for the negative connotation. That said, we appreciate Kamiya's colorful reaction to the story and hope that, now that we've changed the headline, those who couldn't get past that will be able to read the piece. - Stephen Totilo, Editor-in-Chief

i lol'd.
Proves once again that Kotaku is full of shit, and have no idea what they're talking about.

I never understood why people give the likes of Kotaku and IGN so much flak. Sure they have biases, sure they make mistakes, but then, so does EVERY OTHER FREAKING NEWS SOURCE. I don't see why that makes them any worse than any other news source that does the exact same thing.

that said, I do agree, Kotaku's article headline was more than a little ridiculous.

Kotaku is just the worst when it comes to the gaming news because of how useless and view-grabbing their articles are. They'll just post useless shit in an effort to grab views. A good portion of their news feed isn't actually news. They can go and say "Oh, we're a blog, not a news site" but some of their stuff is obviously sensationalized and made to grab more views.

Not that IGN, Eurogamer, etc are much better but Kotaku is the worst, especially when they post articles insulting developers like Kamiya. All just for views.

Because Kotaku is the worst. Most of their articles are even gaming news or just time wasters.

And IGN's reviewers are dumb as a pack of rocks and won't know a good game if it hit them in the face. This pretty much goes for the same for most major reviewing sites like Gamespot.

In other words, you're definition of "bad" is anyone who has a different opinion than you on what is and isn't a good game.

Right.

No, my definition of bad is when someone review doesn't actually reflect the game and look more like a review made the other room where another person was playing the game.

Or when obvious played scores or firing reviewers for having an honest opinion or banning users for questioning the staff of the site.

In other words, your definition of "bad" is not only anyone who disagrees with you on what a good game is, but anyone who "obviously" *insert baseless speculation here*

I don't mean to drag this thread too far off topic, so I am just going to bring this a PM to be fair to everyone.

On-Topic: It seems more like Hideki Kamiya was defending himself compared to bashing.

ever heard of jeff gerstmann?
*Reads his wikipedia article*

I have, now. :P

But in all seriousness, so what? Assuming this one guy is telling the truth... and I'm not denying he is, one gaming website fired one journalist because two publishers threatened to pull advertising money over fair to good review scores. That's not at all proof that "X and Y game review site I don't like is posting false reviews and is rigged."
