I have been having issues with Youtube lately, the movies load REALLY SLOW.(taking at least one hour to load a damn movie from 10 minutes) It is damn annoying.

Some info:

Windows 8
Opera Web-Browser(latest edition)+Google Chrome as Back-up
Great Internet few mB/s

I don't really know what it is to be honest I've had this problem for about a year right now.

my phone is even better on youtube! <-- Wii U as well, all devices are in the same room... T_T

Do you have tips for me?

Make sure you're using the latest version of your web browser and have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. You might also try troubleshooting by enabling HTML5 on YouTube and see if that affects performance. You might also have some third-party programs or add-ins hindering YouTube performance.

In all likelihood though, it's probably a bandwidth issue. Try running a SpeedTest.

A few things:

a. it is not the flashplayer, but thanks for the tip! It is updates at least.
b. my chrome is 100% clean, so it can't be that I hope.(I have no add-ons, only on Opera)
c. Speedtest results: Ping: 5 ms, downloadspeed: 33.65 Mbps, upload is having trouble...(Could this be it?)

Also Lacius please explain to me how I could be the only one in the household having trouble with youtube. It works perfect on my mothers laptop an my fathers desktop... ;p Nothing personal and I didn't give any info about that...

It must be my computer it can't be something else! Has anyone got any ideas?

I now have a clean Opera, and still the problem occurs.

A semi nuke is probably the one that would work...

Step 1, download all the latest versions of the browsers you use and what ever firewall and AV your using. Put those in a folder for later...
Step 2, uninstall everything... You can keep your settings if it asks but those might be the issue (at least for the firewall since it would effect all browsers.)
Step 3, reboot.
Step 4, install all the browsers then install your AV and Firewall.
Step 5, reboot again.

Step 6 should be you enjoying youtube video's playing reasonably well.

Edit: You might also check to see if your network driver has an update....

Another thing to do would be to download a live Linux CD/DVD (I say Puppy Linux its super easy to use.) boot the CD or DVD and test if youtube works fine on that. If it does you know its a software issue. If it also has problems you have a hardware problem and most likely need a new network adapter.

Psionic, after reading you posts something came to my mind.

I have a Dell Laptop, and since dell puts a LOT of shit on it, couldn't that be the problem?

Uninstall everything, how do I this? ;o Just uninstall all browsers, av and firewall or really everything?

Some of my own input: checked Intel for my chipset, my software is OUTDATED as a little kid from the past in the future.

Probably in that chipset group was the network chip, or some conflict was resolved.

Edit: Also I am happy you got everything working :) although I did miss the whole update the drivers for the chipset idea... To be fair to myself it has been many years since I worked at Dell doing tech support though.
