Hi, I'm trying to transfer my Pokemon from my Pokemon Black retail cartridge to my Black 2 on my flashcart. I dumped the save using savsender, and tried to open it with Pokegen, but I got the error "Unable to determine the save game file. Select from the list below to force it to be treated as being from a particular game'. I selected the 'Pokemon Black' option, but none of my Pokemon and other stuff show up.
Any idea how I can fix this?

Make sure the save file is 512mb(correction: 512kb). If not, then probably it's parsely dumped. Thus need to re-do.
Also make sure it's .SAV extension. Although POKEGEN does support other save file extensions too.

Yeah...I mean that...kb not mb.
Have you tried using a save file convertor?
There was another program called 'Pokemon Data Checker v.0.7.28 for BW2 made by RubenPikachu in ProjectPokemon, but some how I can't locate it any more.
The program is similar to POKEGEN-POKESAV.

I don't think that github is that program.
If even after converting it's not working on POKEGEN, then likely it will not be possible.

That confirms it then, your dumped save file might have been partially dumped...might be some offset missing.
Try re-dumping it with the same program or find other means. In any case, if the dump was done properly,
you'll be able to edit the save file using POKEGEN or that DATA CHECKER program. Both program will allow you
to perform similar tasks as you know, except that DATA CHECKER program also allow you to modify the amount of money
to spend in the game which POKEGEN doesn't have that feature. I'd say the DATA CHECKER is more like POKESAV.

Still couldn't get it working?
Just a thought....tried playing a rom to see if it load the save file you dumped?
Let's say, run it(a rom) on DeSmuMe...choose to import the save file.
Make sure the name of both the rom and save file are the same.
(Or use No$Zoomer, which ever you prefer using; remember you might need a patched rom
or AR codes to make the rom load on emulator; google AR codes for it if necessary)
See if it work...if it does, then get in game and re-save again.
Then test it on Pokegen/Data Checker after that.
If it doesn't work, it's most likely as I said before, partial dumped.
Might want to consider using WOODDumper to do the dumping, or buy 'R4i SaveDongle' device
to dump the save file. You could look up tutorial about how to use Wooddumper from this forum.

Flash Cart save files does work on POKEGEN, POKESAV, and DATA CHECKER.
He's problem is that he dumped his save file from his legit PKM BW 1 cart using 'savsender'.
Which wasn't recognize by POKEGEN and DATA CHECKER. An enigma, all I can think of is
it could have been partially dumped thus rendered 'unknown'.

If the save file from the legit cart was dumped using R4i SaveDongle, it's positive editable using Save File Editors such as POKEGEN,
and is usable to run on both flash carts and emulators. But 'savsender', this program I've not heard of. All I can think of now is, him
testing the save file to see if it show up when loaded on emulator or not. If it doesn't then he should try wooddumper or buy an
R4i SaveDongle if still want to dump the save file.

Yeah, if it works on an emulator, it will work with pokegen.
If it doesn't I'll give him a better sav file program
