I don't see why stores can't limit one unit per customer; people buying multiple console and jack up the price by 300% percent all them more backs up my claim that people are generally inconsiderate greedy jackholes.

But I think that problem is a lil bit Nintendo's fault. Why not make a MASS PRODUCTION?

because they can't enforce it anyway. they asked me for my address at bestbuy when i preordered, but i gave them a fake one. they have no way of verifying.

Thats the problem people buying more than 1 console cant be stopped. Even if stores limited 1 per customer they could easily buy from a different store. I would never dream of getting multiple consoles to make a bit of profit on it. I think its selfish and greedy. Hell if I had the money to blow getting more than 1 console Id spend it on games and shit for the console I had.

I, personally, would probably never resell (hard enough for me to get the money together just for one)

but you've gotta hate those little groups of people that take advantage of connections they have and put their money together to buy hundreds at a time directly from Nintendo to resell them and make a dirty little profit. (They're called stores.)

EDIT :
In economics, if you pay extra, it's the price you pay for the luxury of ...
  • not having to rush to preorder before everyone else
  • not having to wait in line on launch day
  • not having to hunt for a store that just got them restocked
  • not having to wait for them to be in stock everywhere and easy to get at
It's also why something called "resale value" is a selling point for some products.

Try and justify it as much as you like, if it helps you sleep at night mate. But if im brutally honest if it wasnt for you greedy self serving dickheads there would be more consoles to go round. But its fuckers like you that go and buy multiple consoles so you can go and make a profit off the back of its popularity and then try and justify it by saying they dont wait in line for it. They have to wait longer for it in the post and risk it getting lost or stolen in while in the post.

Yeah supply and demand, thats what official suppliers are for to sell at retail price. Not for scrots that has the money to splash on multiple consoles to then jack up the price and then brand it a finders fee to justify the price inflation and then take advantage of joe bloggs who wants one for his kid who missed out because arseholes out there brought in bulk to make a profit on. Its selfish and immoral. So dont act like these people are doing others a favour.

That's just how economy works, with everything :/
If you've got something someone els wants very bad, you can ask more than what the shop asks.
with the Wii we waited till after the first 2 "waves", we still got the last one in the store, but we had to hunt down stores aswell. We could also have bought it on e-bay etc. but they were asking too much.

So you options are:
1: buy one on e-bay and co. for a much higher price.
2: hunt down stores, looking for one that still has a unit and pay the store price.
3: keep on crying
4: wait for the next "wave" and jump on it a lot sooner :/

I don't think you understand that supply and demand doesn't just apply to retailers and when did I act like, as you put it, these people are doing others a favour? Please put thought into your posts before you click the post button.

I understand that stores that sell these items do sell for a higher price than what they got them for. They are a business after all and need to do that to stay in business. But if demand is high and supply is low they dont suddenly jack up the price to take advantage at least not here in the uk.

.... dude, that's on a completely different level, they need profit to be in buisness....

And the "e-bay" people also want a profit for the time they spend in line, the time they spend to order it etc. (so it's even more related than you think -.-" )

The last comment wasnt directed at you personnally it was aim at those that do. I should have stated that my apologises.

*snip
They have to wait longer for it in the post and risk it getting lost or stolen in while in the post.

So no different to buying anything else off ebay or another online auction site?

Im sorry but time spent in line doesnt mean jack if they were there buying 1 for themselves aswel

It was just a explanation....

Btw.
I need to import something from the UK, I can pay for the product, but I don't want to pick it up at the store.
Can you pick it up and send it to me?
For free?

I guess you answer will be:
No, I don't know you, I've got better use for my time, how much are you willing to pay for it??

(ps. it's a example)

True but most people buy from ebay as the item isnt sold in the area where they live. Wii U will be physically availible in all areas. If everyone stuck to 1 console people wont miss out and risk getting scammed or have to pay up to double or more the retail price.

question which hasn't been asked....

Why were you too late for the first wave?

lol I see what your getting at but I have done that and done it for free, they just covered the product cost, shipping and import tax. Thats called doing a favour. But thats just me.
